Citi Wealth is seeking an Alternative Investments Associate (AVP) to support sales growth, advisor engagement, and client adoption across private markets and hedge fund strategies. This is a client-facing role focused on advisor education, client engagement, and fundraising execution, with data analytics serving as a critical tool to inform sales strategy, measure impact, and enhance execution.

The successful candidate will drive business results by acting as a trusted product expert for Private Bankers, Investment Counselors, Advisors, and clients. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality investment content, leading educational and marketing initiatives, and supporting fundraising efforts through insights derived from business data. This role will co-manage a sales pipeline in partnership with a senior Alternatives Specialist and requires strong presentation skills, comfort engaging senior stakeholders, and the ability to translate market and performance information into clear, actionable sales messaging.

Key Responsibilities Alternative Investment Sales & Advisor Education

  • Serve as a subject matter expert across private equity, private credit, real estate, and hedge fund strategies, supporting fundraising and net new asset flows.
  • Educate Private Bankers, Investment Counselors, and Advisors through live trainings, teach-ins, roadshows, and ongoing coaching to increase comfort, knowledge, and proficiency with alternative investments.
  • Partner with advisors to effectively position alternative strategies with clients, tailoring messaging by client segment, portfolio needs, and level of investment sophistication.
  • Participate in client meetings, sales pitches, and prospecting opportunities, articulating investment rationale, portfolio construction considerations, and risk-return tradeoffs.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for advisors during fundraising periods, proactively coordinating follow-ups and ensuring timely, high-quality client engagement.
  • Design and execute client education programs, including seminars, webinars, small-group events, and market update sessions focused on alternative investments.

Sales Execution & Business Insights

  • Manage and execute on a sales pipeline in partnership with a senior Alternatives Specialist, supporting opportunity prioritization and execution discipline.
  • Leverage sales reporting and business analytics to identify opportunities, track engagement, monitor funnel progression, and support follow-up efforts.
  • Monitor fundraising progress, pipeline activity, and advisor participation to help focus sales resources and drive momentum.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth client onboarding, subscriptions, and post-investment engagement.
  • Incorporate insights from sales activity, advisor feedback, and client behavior to refine messaging, educational content, and go-to-market strategy.

Product Collaboration & Fund Launch Support

  • Partner closely with the Alternatives & Investment Manager Solutions (AIMS) team on fundraising initiatives, product positioning, and go-to-market execution.
  • Support and, where applicable, lead fund launches in coordination with General Partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide structured feedback from the field on client preferences, competitive dynamics, and emerging product opportunities to inform platform evolution and future offerings.

Risk Management & Controls

  • Ensure all sales, marketing, and client engagement activities adhere to applicable regulations and Citi’s internal policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong ethical judgment and proactively manage risk and control considerations with transparency and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within wealth management, banking, or alternative investments
  • Working knowledge of private markets and/or hedge fund strategies
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and clients
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, sales-driven environment
  • Proven ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and follow through with minimal supervision
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills; comfort using sales and performance reporting tools preferred

Licensing (US Only)

  • Series 7 and Series 63 required
  • Series 65 or Series 66 required
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam is a prerequisite to the Series 7

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required
