We are seeking an experienced G10 Rates Macro Sales professional to join our Rates Sales team in either Hong Kong or Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for originating, developing, and maintaining client relationships within the G10 Rates macro client segment in Asia, providing specialist G10 Rates coverage to Asset Managers and Hedge Funds. This role requires a deep understanding of G10 fixed income markets, macroeconomics, and financial derivatives, coupled with strong sales and client management skills. The ideal candidate will drive revenue growth by identifying client needs, and work alongside with Tokyo / Australia G10 Rates sales to deliver full G10 product suite this Macro client space.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management & Business Development:
- Identify and target new client opportunities, on-boarding and prospecting key clients to expand the franchise across Hong Kong and Singapore, potentially Middle East as well
- Actively distribute G10 Rates products, including interest rate swaps, government bonds, cross-currency swaps, and other related derivatives.
- Drive revenue generation by executing trades, cross-selling products, and identifying market opportunities
- Ability to leverage existing contacts network, understand client needs, introduce the Citi offering, and convince clients to adopt it to increase client satisfaction and Citi revenue.
- Market Analysis and Product Knowledge:
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of global G10 macroeconomic trends, central bank policies, and their impact on interest rate markets.
- Provide clients with insightful market commentary, trade ideas, and risk analysis.
- Execution & Team Collaboration:
- Facilitate efficient and accurate execution of client trades, ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with regional and global sales teams, traders, strategists, and other product specialists to deliver a seamless client experience.
- Share market intelligence and client feedback to enhance overall team performance and product offering.
- Corporate Governance & Risk Management:
- Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, and Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
- Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics.
- Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation.
- Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field. A Master's degree or CFA designation is a plus.
- Experience: 6-15 years of experience, with prior Sales experience at a financial services organization, preferably in G10 Rates Macro Sales or a related fixed income role. Experience in a client-facing role working with the buy-side community is essential.
- Market Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of G10 interest rate markets, macroeconomic drivers, and derivative products (swaps, options, futures).
- Client Network: Broad client relationships preferred; an established network of institutional client relationships in Asia, particularly Hong Kong and Singapore, is highly advantageous.
Skills
- Sales Acumen: Proven track record of strong sales performance, client acquisition, and relationship management. People’s management experience is a plus
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely. Self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills to interpret market data and develop trade ideas. Advanced problem-solving skills.
- Languages: Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in Mandarin/Japanese/Cantonese is desirable for client coverage in the region.
