The Asset Services Assistant Vice President (AVP), specializing in LATAM markets, is responsible for ensuring the accurate, efficient, and compliant processing of asset servicing events within the Latin American region. This position requires a strong understanding of LATAM market practices and regulations, excellent leadership and communication skills (Spanish and English proficiency preferred), and the ability to drive process improvements. The AVP will be responsible for the data analysis, reconciliation, transaction processing, and issue resolution related to complex voluntary corporate action events and other asset servicing functions specific to LATAM, while contributing to a culture of risk management and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Accurate reconciliation and efficient processing of Corporate Action positions, specifically for LATAM markets and instruments.
- Timely and effective execution of client instructions, proactively addressing potential challenges specific to LATAM markets and maintaining adherence to established guidelines and regional regulations.
- Reconciliation, processing, and payment facilitation of voluntary corporate action events, ensuring compliance with relevant LATAM Market requirements and internal controls.
- Serve as a key point of escalation and subject matter expert for complex inquiries related to asset servicing events in the LATAM region, providing clear, concise, and effective communication in both Spanish and English.
- Analyze operational issues specific to LATAM markets to identify root causes, collaborating with team members to develop and implement effective solutions tailored to the region.
- Champion a strong culture of compliance, driving team adherence to established procedures and controls, proactively monitoring and adapting to changes in LATAM market regulations, and ensuring all team members are adequately trained.
- Assess risks associated with team activities, demonstrating a strong commitment to protecting Citigroup's reputation, clients, and assets through compliance with laws, regulations (including those specific to LATAM), and ethical conduct. Effectively escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency to senior management.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including clients and internal business partners, to improve processes and enhance service delivery within the LATAM market.
- Contribute to the implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at improving process efficiency, reducing operational risk, and enhancing client satisfaction in the LATAM region.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in financial services operations, with specific experience in asset servicing and corporate actions within LATAM markets.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including experience in managing and developing teams.
- Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese and English preferred (written and verbal).
- Solid understanding of cash flows, accounting treatments, operational controls, and market practices specific to LATAM.
- In-depth knowledge of various investment instruments traded in LATAM markets.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant industry software.
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
