The VP – Operations Manager leads daily FX hedging operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and controlled processing of products for Passive Currency Overlay programs. The role manages a team responsible for FX Hedging objectives for multiple institutional clients. The role requires close working relationship with Transfer Agency and Fund Administration teams.( Role dimension 40%)
In addition to PCO responsibilities, the role will support- the TM AI Operations Global lead and APAC Head of TM (Transaction Management ) AI, productivity, and workforce‑enablement initiatives—ensuring AI tools and automation are operationally viable, risk‑aligned, and embedded into BAU processes as TM APAC Operations AI Lead (Role Dimension – 60%)

Key Responsibilities:

  • PCO Operations

  • Manage all daily PCO operational activities including FX conversion, hedge workflow, FX trade booking and reporting.

  • Oversee hedge rolls, rebalancing cycles, reconciliations and client reporting.

  • Serve as the first escalation point for operational issues, breaks, and control exceptions.

  • Maintain accurate SOPs, controls, and productivity practices within the PCO lifecycle.

  • Monitor KPIs, ensuring transparency of service levels, risk indicators, and Capcity.

  • Foster a high‑performance, accountable team culture through regular coaching, performance reviews, and active skill‑development planning.

  • Identify operational risks, control gaps, and reconciliations/booking discrepancies.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit expectations, and regulatory obligations.

  • Strengthen control frameworks, data integrity, and exception‑handling standards.

  • AI, Productivity & Workforce Enablement

  • Support AI‑enablement and productivity initiatives across APAC Transaction Management.

  • Develop operational playbooks, standards, and frameworks for AI-enabled workflows.

  • Represent Operations in product-related AI discussions, forums and workshops.

  • Provide Ops insight into readiness, workflow fit, BAU risks, and control requirements.

  • Shape operational problem statements and contribute to business case development.

  • Support adoption, stabilisation, and value delivery of AI and automation tools.

  • Ensure operational controls are embedded into AI and non‑AI solutions.

  • Help drive AI Adoption in the APAC CSC and Branches through creation and adoption of Prompts working closely with the Product AI organization.

  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • PCO - Partner with Custody, TA, FA, Cash & Reconciliation, Technology, and Risk.

  • AI - Partner with Product and Tech to ensure operational considerations are embedded in solution design working very closely with TM Branch , Cluster and CSC leads.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in FX, custody, or transaction services operations.

  • Strong technical understanding of FX forwards, swaps, NDF processing, and settlements.

  • Experience leading operational and/or transformational teams.

  • Data Driven with the Ability to use data and metrics and present commercial business opportunities

  • Ability to deliver productivity, automation, or AI initiatives in live production environments.

  • Strong analytical, risk awareness, and escalation‑management skills.

  • Strong Stakeholder Management skills with Ability to navigate across various levels of seniority and across Operations, Product and Technology including Transformation teams.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Master’s degree would be a good to have but not essential

Role reports to the Director APAC Head of Asia Transaction Management who is also the TM Head of AI Enablement globally and hence right level of seniority and experience is important.
