The Investment Sales Sr. Lead is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
Responsibilities:
- Managed Investment products include Mutual Funds, Liquid Alternatives and Discretionary Portfolios managed by CIM (Citi Investment Management).
- Educate Bankers and Investment Counselors and other members of the sales team to increase knowledge and proficiency in product area. Act as internal product expert and develop marketing programs to drive sales. Help develop and manage pipeline for new business opportunities. Support after sales servicing. Responsible, together with Banker teams, for reaching revenue and AUM targets in the Managed Investment portion of our business.
- Understand and discuss current and historical market conditions across the globe. Communicate complex technical details in a manner that is easily understood and consistent with the level of sophistication of the client or sales team member Influence a wide range of personnel by applying expertise in product specialty. Help Bankers and Investment Counselors to evaluate client profiles in terms of return expectation, risk appetite, time horizon, liquidity needs, etc. and recommend particular Investment products that satisfy the client needs. Present in internal meetings and conference calls on Investment product features and benefits and launch new product offerings.
- Attend client meetings with Bankers and participate in presentations and sales pitches as needed.
- Act as liaison with Global Investment Research/Due Diligence teams and Bankers. Identify product gaps or opportunities and recommend potential alternate products to Research team.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience working with Investment products
- Prior Banking experience
- Background in discretionary investment offering preferred
- Sales and relationship management skills including a track record of building successful relationships with external clients and internal partners.
- Experience in delivering high quality service to complex individual or corporate clients
- Self-starter with creative problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in English, Cantonese and/or Mandarin. Native fluency in Cantonese is highly preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
