About the role

Job Summary

The Korea Localization & Regulatory Program Manager plays a critical role in enabling market access for the import, certification, and sale of Cisco products in the Korean market. As the primary coordinator between the global product teams, corporate compliance, certification laboratories, regulatory authorities, and the Korea sales team, this role directly supports product launches and revenue realization. By navigating complex regulatory requirements (such as KC EMC, Safety, Radio, VSFT, and environmental regulations), this position is essential to sustaining the continuous growth of Cisco Korea’s business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance Oversight: Identify and verify regulatory requirements (KC EMC, Safety, Radio, VSFT, environmental regulations, etc.) necessary for product sales in Korea and support their timely acquisition.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact and coordinator between Cisco’s global product teams, corporate compliance, external certification laboratories (e.g., Nemko, HCT, KTL), Korean regulatory authorities, and internal sales and service teams.
  • Market Access Lifecycle Management: Manage the product approval process, follow up on CCW (Cisco Commerce Workspace) registrations, and monitor/support updates necessitated by regulatory changes.
  • Technical and Regulatory Support: Provide guidance on resolving regulatory challenges and addressing compliance inquiries regarding complex product configurations, such as PoE (Power over Ethernet) products.
  • Strategic Advisory: Proactively identify shifts in laws and regulations and integrate these insights into product and sales strategies to minimize business risks.

Qualifications (Preferred Skills & Experience)

  • Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Practical experience with Korean regulations concerning telecommunications and IT equipment (e.g., KC certification, environmental regulations).
  • Project Management: Ability to manage product launch schedules by effectively engaging multiple stakeholders, including global teams, external labs, and regulatory authorities.
  • Technical Understanding: Familiarity with Cisco product configurations and technical specifications (particularly networking equipment).
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to leverage data-driven insights and a holistic perspective to identify core business challenges and drive strategic initiatives forward.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements clearly to both internal and external stakeholders, and to negotiate and coordinate effectively.
  • Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in both Korean and English.
