The Quality Engineer (QE) for Customer Engagement Campaigns is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and end‑to‑end quality of customer‑facing engagement campaigns. This role focuses on test planning, test data management, execution of functional and regression testing, and documentation of test evidence across campaign lifecycles, aligned to the Customer Engagement operating model and QE strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Documentation

  • Document detailed test cases covering audience selection, offer logic, journey flow, personalization, and channel delivery for customer‑facing engagement campaigns.
  • Maintain test cases and execution results in the approved test management tooling (e.g., Zephyr) with clear traceability to requirements and user stories.
  • Create and maintain test evidence (screenshots, logs, outputs) to support sign‑off and audit needs.
  • Participate in daily, weekly team and Agile meetings as needed. Provide status updates to cross functional teams and management.

Test Data Management

  • Submit and manage test data requests to the Test Data Management (TDM) team, clearly articulating data requirements for campaign testing.
  • Validate TDM‑provided test data for completeness and accuracy prior to test execution.
  • Mine existing datasets and create mock or synthetic test data when required to support test scenarios and edge cases.

Test Execution

  • Execute functional test cases for campaigns, including audience, offer, interaction, and journey testing, and document pass/fail results with supporting evidence.
  • QA and test emails, SMS, push notifications across different browsers, devices and clients.
  • Perform regression testing on existing campaigns to ensure changes do not introduce defects or unintended behavior.
  • Partner with builders and engineers to retest fixes and close defects logged in Jira.

End‑to‑End (E2E) Testing & Collaboration

  • Participate in end‑to‑end functional testing across upstream and downstream systems to validate data flow and campaign activation.
  • Collaborate closely with Campaign Managers, Builders, CDP Engineering, Analytics, and TDM teams to resolve quality issues and remove testing blockers.
  • Support business acceptance testing and provide quality sign‑off readiness.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in Quality Engineering or QA for customer‑facing digital campaigns, journeys, or marketing platforms.
  • Strong experience documenting and executing test cases for data‑driven and personalized experiences.
  • Hands‑on experience working with test data, including TDM coordination and data validation.
  • Familiarity with defect management and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Zephyr).
  • Understanding of end‑to‑end testing concepts across integrated systems and data pipelines.
  • Experience supporting CDP‑based or multi‑channel engagement platforms (e.g., email, web, SMS, journeys).
  • Knowledge of or experience with SaaS email platforms such as Salesforce, Epsilon Cheetah Digital Marketing Suite is a plus.
  • Exposure to regression testing strategies for high‑volume campaign portfolios.
  • Ability to work in cross‑functional, fast‑paced delivery teams focused on experimentation and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or similar field of study
  • Minimum 3 years manual testing experience.
  • Prefer 2 years Selenium test automation experience.
  • Minimum 2 years agile experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of QA required.
  • Familiarity with XSL, XSLT, XML, CSS, DHTML, JSON, core Java Freemarker and/or software tools like JIRA, Zephyr, Litmus, Browserstack, and XML Spy. Some database knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Analytics platforms or similar reporting tools a plus.

Success Measures

  • High test coverage and accurate documentation of campaign test cases and results.
  • Timely and reliable execution of functional, regression, and E2E testing.
  • Reduction in production defects and improved confidence in campaign quality prior to launch.
