Are you ready to lead the launch of world-class optical products into volume production? Ciena’s Interconnect team, specializing in coherent optical components and pluggable modules, is seeking a dynamic Technical NPI Project Manager to drive the introduction of innovative optical products like XT and Nitro into production. Be part of a team that’s shaping the future of optical technology.

How You Will Contribute:As a Technical NPI Project Manager, take charge of planning and managing new product introductions (NPI) from design through ramp-up at partner manufacturing sites. Collaborate with the Nitro Chip NPI Test and Process Team, Nitro Chip R&D, Ciena Prototype Lab, and Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to ensure seamless transitions and successful product launches. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables while driving the program’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead projects with cross-functional R&D and Operations Engineering teams.
• Define project deliverables and schedules with clear milestones in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain accurate tracking of Operations key deliverables to ensure program success.
• Review project plans, communicate changes and risks, and establish contingency plans.
• Manage prototype builds in Ciena’s Lab and at contract manufacturers.
• Collaborate with the production operations team to ensure a smooth production ramp.

The Must Haves:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Optical Engineering.
• Knowledge of Optical/Electrical assembly and test engineering.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Project Management.
• Strong cross-functional leadership and organizational skills.
• Effective problem-solving abilities and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proactive and results-driven mindset with a willingness to engage others for success.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with Agile methodologies.

Pay Range:The annual pay range for this position in Ottawa is $110, 100 - $175, 900

The annual pay range for this position in New Jersey is $165, 400 - $264, 200

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
