The Radisson Hotel Sunnyvale is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Part Time Evening-Weekend Bartender who is looking to be a part of our fun and dynamic hotel restaurant environment. The role of the Bartender is to prepare beverages for our guests in a prompt and courteous manner while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency.

  • Must be available weekends
  • Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the service brand behavior, Yes I Can! genuine hospitality and by exceeding guest expectations
  • Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility, and uses teamwork when providing guest service
  • Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution, and follows through when resolving guest problems
  • Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% Guest Satisfaction Guarantee
  • Performs other duties as required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality
  • Provides prompt, quality service to customers of banquet bar by preparing beverages and serving guests in accordance with RHG Managed Hotels standards
  • Provides service to customers by suggesting a cocktail/wine or non-alcoholic beverages and up-selling to premium products as appropriate
  • Maintains adequate levels of beverages and glassware at all times; displays beverages in an attractive fashion on cart
  • Maintains cleanliness of banquet bar cart at all times
  • Maintains knowledge of bar cart inventory and wine selection to respond properly to customer questions
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of beverage recipes and mixing procedures
  • Adheres to legal and/or Managed Hotels policies and standards
  • Understands and follows the laws and guidelines for beverage service
  • Handles cash, checks and/or credit cards in accordance with Radisson policies
  • Records accurate consumption at the end of each function and reports to supervisor

Requirement/Skills

  • Must be able to obtain and hold a valid Bartender’s License
  • One (1) year pervious bartending experience in an upscale environment preferred
  • Thorough understanding of safe and perceptive service
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to do basic math and handle cash
  • Ability to work with Point of Sale systems
  • Highly organized – demonstrate ability to proactively prioritize needs, put first things first, and effectively manage resources and time

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis, and up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to maneuver up to 150 pounds, occasionally, for short periods of time
  • Able to set up and take down tables, chairs, stages and other banquet meeting fixtures
  • Ability to push and pull carts weighing up to 200 lbs, occasionally
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, constantly

The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift and alter assigned duties as business dictates.
