Senior Technical Program Manager, Mobile Apps

About the Role

At Chewy, it is our mission to become the most trusted and convenient online destination for pet parents and our partners vets and service providers alike. Our success is measured by the happiness of the people and pets we serve, not simply by the amount of pet supplies we deliver. That's why we continue to think of outside-the-Chewy-box ways to delight, surprise, and thank our loyal pet lovers!

Chewy is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM), Mobile Apps to help define and deliver the next generation of the Chewy app experience. This role is an integral member of the App Platform team, responsible for orchestrating cross-functional programs that elevate app performance, reliability, and quality — ensuring Chewy's mobile experiences feel world-class for millions of pet parents. You will partner directly with product, engineering, design, and brand leaders to drive alignment across Native app development teams, shared Webview contributors, and business customers. You'll bring operational excellence and planning rigor to a fast-moving environment — enabling clear priorities, scalable execution, and accountability across numerous partner teams. The ideal candidate is a structured, calm, and collaborative leader who thrives on bringing clarity to complex, cross-functional efforts. You're technically fluent in modern mobile architectures (iOS, Android, React Native/Webview frameworks) and passionate about customer experience, craftsmanship, and performance.

What You'll Do

  • Lead cross-functional program delivery across Native and Webview app pods — ensuring coordinated planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality app experiences.
  • Establish durable mechanisms for tracking priorities, dependencies, and outcomes across multiple product and engineering teams contributing to the Chewy app.
  • Partner with engineering to define, plan, and track improvements in app performance, observability, reliability, and quality automation.
  • Collaborate with Brand, Design, and Marketing to ensure that new experiences align with Chewy's app standards for design, motion, and brand expression.
  • Drive consistency in execution — codifying best practices for mobile feature development, QA, and release readiness across native and webview surfaces.
  • Facilitate technical alignment across cross-functional customers, bringing together engineers, designers, and business partners to make smart trade-offs and unblock delivery.
  • Influence through data and storytelling — create clear updates, executive summaries, and retrospectives that connect outcomes to app quality and customer impact.
  • Build operational excellence — implement lightweight governance for intake, milestone planning, release readiness, and partner communication.
  • Champion the customer experience by driving programs that accelerate our ability to deliver polished, performant, and reliable app experiences.

What You'll Need

  • 6+ years of experience in technical program or project management, preferably in mobile app development or platform teams.
  • Solid understanding of iOS and Android ecosystems, including native development, app release management, and hybrid (webview) architectures.
  • Demonstrated success managing large, complex, cross-functional programs with multiple customer groups (engineering, design, product, and brand).
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and partner teams across product, engineering, and creative functions.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills — able to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience implementing structured planning, risk tracking, and program reporting mechanisms.
  • Calm under pressure, solutions-oriented, and skilled at building trust in ambiguous environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent technical experience). PMP or Agile certification a plus.

Why You'll Love It Here

  • Make an impact: Drive transformation across one of Chewy's most visible customer touchpoints.
  • Collaborate broadly: Partner with experts in product, brand, design, and engineering to shape the future of the Chewy app.
  • Grow with us: Join a high-visibility team with opportunities to expand scope into App Platform leadership and next-gen mobile technologies.
  • Be customer obsessed: Help deliver the most trusted, delightful app experience for pet parents everywhere.
