Job Description:
Associate Director of Engineering Boston, MA– IT - Healthcare – Full time – R29810Job Description: What you’ll do:
- Lead technical direction, product delivery, and roadmap execution across multiple engineering domains, working closely with product, design, and business counterparts to translate strategic business goals into engineering solutions.
- Build and scale self-sufficient, autonomous teams with full ownership of end-to-end delivery.
- Emphasize the delivery of high-quality, resilient solutions that directly enhance the customer experience and drive business impact.
- Lead initiatives to implement scalable engineering processes, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), automated testing, and standardized release practices to ensure consistency, speed, and quality in software delivery.
- Establish clear and measurable goals for engineering teams, providing ongoing coaching and feedback to engineering managers and individual contributors.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership across various teams to influence architecture standards, drive alignment on technical direction, and ensure best practices are upheld throughout the organization.
- Ensure smooth collaboration across cross-functional teams to meet shared goals.
- 10% domestic travel required.
- Supervises 12 direct reports - 5 Long term contractors Software Engineer II; 1 Software Engineer I; 3 Software Engineer II; 1 Software Engineer III.
What you’ll need:

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or related field, plus 7 years of experience as an Architectural and Engineering Managers or a related position/occupation.

Alternate Education and Experience: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or related field, plus 5 years of experience as an Architectural and Engineering Managers or a related position/occupation.

Experience must include 4 years with:
-
Agile and Scrum methodologies;
-
Manage large, complex, cross-functional projects;
-
Drive agile practices and adapt workflows to ensure efficiency;
-
Architect, build, and deploy highly available, scalable systems;
-
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines;
-
Containerization tools such as Docker and deployment tools like Jenkins;
-
Cloud platforms, particularly AWS, or other cloud service providers such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure;
-
Healthcare, catalog & inventory management, pharmacy, Pharmacy Information Management Systems (PIMS), or other regulated platforms; and
-
Leverage cloud technologies to scale applications and enhance system reliability.

The base salary range for this role is $238,285.00 to $249,000.00 per year.
- The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
