  • Chevron’s Global Business Center (GBS), located in Buenos Aires, is accepting applications for the position of Developer
  • Trading Liquids Front Office Successful candidates will join the IT Organization, which is part of a multifunction service and technical center with a workforce of more than 1800 employees that deliver business services and solutions to the corporation across the globe.

The Trading Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting software solutions that enable trading, risk management, scheduling, pricing, and settlement activities. This role works closely with traders, analysts, risk, and operations teams to deliver reliable, high‑performance systems that support end-to-end trading workflows.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Translate business/functional requirements into technical designs and working solutions.

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain applications supporting trading, risk, scheduling, and pricing workflows across different environments using standard software engineering and Devops practices, and with a strong focus on stability, accuracy, and performance.

  • Build and enhance integrations between trading platforms and upstream/downstream systems (market data, pricing, finance, reporting).

  • Develop batch jobs, APIs, services, and user interfaces to support trading operations.

  • Build and/or enhance capabilities and integrations with Trading core Trading systems, especially Right Angle.

  • Debugging and fixing issues by applying basic programming concepts & patterns, applying in-depth knowledge of business domain to improve business workflows, and collaborating with business partners to identify, prioritize and implement application enhancements.

  • Ensure solutions meet audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements relevant to trading systems.

  • Build and support low code solutions.

  • Manage and automate application testing suites.

  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospective and backlog refinement.

  • Maintain documentation and ensure knowledge sharing within the team.

  • Continually building your business acumen in new areas regarding 3rd party price providers and internal core systems in Trading.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands on experience developing and supporting solutions using Microsoft technologies (C# / .NET, Power Platform, SQL Server).

  • SQL coding

  • Ability to understand or write complex queries related to Microsoft SQL views, stored procedures & tables (Microsoft SQL Server Mgt. Studio).

  • Understanding of Microsoft Azure – Azure SQL Database, Azure application insights, Azure cloud services, Azure functions, etc.

  • Self-starter, curious about technology, able to multi-task, able to work independently, communicate well, and have a passion for solving complex business IT problems.

  • Communication (written/verbal) and facilitation skills (English and Spanish) with solid ability to convey business and technical information to a diverse audience.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to engage difficulties with persistence.

  • Ability to work with cross-functional multi-cultural teams in fast‑paced trading environments.

  • Clear communication and documentation skills.

  • Microsoft Power Platform

  • Power Bi, Power Apps, Power Flows, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Right Angle (ETRM)

Experience working with Trading systems will be considered a plus.

Experience working in an agile team (Scrum / Kanban) is considered a plus.

Experience / knowledge in developing and documenting technical specifications.

Experience / knowledge with testing methodologies and tools.

Ability to constructively manage issues, conflicts and problems in a prompt, direct and objective manner.

Organized and skilled at planning. Ability to work from a high-level to a low level of detail and handle multiple assignments with varying priorities and deadlines.

Demonstrated leadership skills especially in leading small projects with a cross-functional team.
