Recommends changes to improve policy and procedures.
Supports larger customers/clients and may lead functional projects under infrequent supervision. Developing a detailed knowledge of the work function.

About the Role
Chevron has an exciting opportunity for an Employee Relations Counselor to join the Asia Pacific Employee Relations team. This role will be based at the6750 Building in Makati City, Philippines, and will report to the Employee Relations Manager – Asia Pacific.
The Employee Relations Counselor will be responsible for delivering Chevron’s end-to-end grievance management process, working closing with our HR and Legal teams, Chevron leaders and external stakeholders. The role will conduct formal workplace investigations and corrective actions, provide advice on complex employee matters relating to grievance resolution, performance and disciplinary processes, and identify and mitigate risks to contribute to a positive employee experience whilst ensuring compliance with Chevron policy and relevant legislative frameworks across multiple locations in the Asia Pacific region.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Start to finish handling of formal workplace investigative processes, including intake and strategic planning, conducting interviews, data (evidence) gathering and analysis, report writing, stakeholder management, and execution of relevant corrective actions and/or disciplinary outcomes

Advise HR colleagues and business leaders on complex grievance, discipline, and performance management cases, including document drafting and review

Facilitate dispute and conflict resolution processes, including mediation and coaching
-
Provide consultative services to HR colleagues and business leaders across a wide range of employee relations topics/issues as required

Maintain confidential and secure records; update case management systems

Internal metrics reporting; analyze data and identify trends to recommend focused attention and interaction in support of business initiatives

Engage with key stakeholders (e.g. Legal, Security, IT Forensics, Labour Relations, HSE, and Health & Medical) to reduce exposure to risks and determine risk mitigation strategies

Undertake special projects as required (e.g. policy review)

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Ability to manage complex and confidential employee matters with a demonstrated combination of poise, sensitivity, assertiveness, and tact to build trust and psychological safety

Sound judgement, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills in managing complex, sensitive situations to deliver the right outcome

A people focus; be proactive and strive to continually improve the experience of all parties involved in an investigation, ensuring individuals feel safe, supported and respected throughout the process

Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail – demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, including writing formal investigation reports

Sound experience relating to workplace investigations, discipline and performance management, and demonstrated ability to successfully facilitate resolution of complex interpersonal conflict; is not intimidated in difficult situations; credibly provides counsel using data and relevant facts; viewed as neutral, fair and unbiased

Knowledge of discrimination, harassment, and bullying and related legislation in relevant locations across the Asia Pacific region

Strong influencing problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence diverse stakeholders across all organizational levels both internally & externally

Strong attention to detail including demonstrated expertise analyzing and summarizing relevant facts appropriate for intended audience.

Ability to operate autonomously and handle multiple complex workplace issues in a fast-paced work environment, while consistently delivering quality ER services
