Reliability Engineer

about the position

The Reliability Engineer is part of the Discipline Engineering team within Chevron’s ENGINE and provides technical support across the enterprise through use of advanced reliability modelling & probabilistic analysis tools such as Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) modeling, Weibull Analysis, & Reliability Centered Maintenance. This role provides support to producing Businesses, Capital Projects and new technology projects to help reliability improvement efforts and meet project reliability objectives.

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Reliability modelling and analysis including using RAM (Reliability Availability Maintainability), Life Cycle and Life data analysis
• Develop Reliability plans, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis and other qualitative reliability studies
• Develop reliability centered maintenance strategies to resolve high frequency, low consequence (bad actor) trends within operating assets
• Collate and assess company facilities Reliability performance to provide actionable insights to improve its performance
• Support incident investigations to determine root cause, develop defect-elimination recommendations & plans across diverse asset classes in upstream and downstream.
• Apply risk-based Reliability Centered maintenance techniques to develop and updated asset strategies

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized (AICTE) university
• Proven experience applying recognized quantitative Reliability tools and techniques including RAM (Reliability Availability Maintainability) and Weibull analysis
• Skilled in qualitative Reliability tools and techniques such as Root Cause Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis and Reliability Centered Maintenance facilitation
• 5+ years of experience in Reliability engineering
• Skilled use of DNV RAM analysis software
• Skilled use of Reliasoft software tools including Weibull++
• Post graduate Reliability Engineering certifications/degrees.
• Experience at an operating petrochemical plant
