About the team/role

As a Specialist, Quality Assurance, you will join a growing team dedicated to ensuring data accuracy and compliance for Checkr's strategic and enterprise customer base. This role requires deep investigative skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex public records systems to establish ground truth for criminal background screening accuracy.

What you’ll do

  • Execute and meticulously process complex background checks, ensuring the highest levels of accuracy across identity verification, compliance adherence, and data classification.

  • Document findings in standardized formats, clearly categorizing accuracy issues and root causes to enable systematic product improvements

  • Proactively identify and thoroughly investigate complex issues, developing and driving effective solutions for customers

  • Contribute to continuous refinement of workflows, sampling methodologies, and quality frameworks as the program scales

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including Product, Engineering, and Legal to identify process improvements and improve system accuracy

What you bring

  • 3+ years of experience within the background check industry, demonstrating a deep understanding of industry standards and practices

  • Strong understanding of the US court system, including familiarity with accessing public access terminals and communicating with court agencies

  • Exceptional research and investigative skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to uncover critical information efficiently

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, iterative environment

  • An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action: you raise the bar, move with urgency, stay resilient through ambiguity, and take ownership to deliver meaningful outcomes

What you’ll get

  • A fast-paced and collaborative environment

  • Learning and development allowance

  • Competitive cash and equity compensation and opportunity for advancement

  • 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • Up to $25K reimbursement for fertility, adoption, and parental planning services

  • Flexible PTO policy

  • Monthly wellness stipend
