Checkout.com is actively looking for an experienced, driven and commercially minded Regional Treasurer to lead the Treasury team across APAC. the regional Treasury strategy based on the company’s overall strategic goals and Treasury’s goals. You will lead the 12-person team and the day-to-day operations across the Singapore and Tokyo offices and be the key point of contact for senior management and stakeholders in the APAC region.

The role covers the full spectrum of regional Treasury aspects, including owning the regional banking strategy, optimising regional balances, liquidity and investment revenue. A core focus is on overseeing multi-currency processing, settlement and payouts, including managing and mitigating financial and FX risks, daily funding, and providing input on relevant APAC product roadmaps. This pivotal leadership role demands strategic thinking combined with hands-on operational oversight of regional Treasury and risk management.

The ideal candidate will be well organised, adaptable to the changing demands of the role, and

capable of driving execution towards specific goals while maintaining the overall accuracy and

alignment necessary for their work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategy, direction and oversight for all Treasury activities across APAC within the Group framework

  • Act as the senior contact and escalation point for senior management and regional stakeholders In the APAC region

  • Chair the APAC ALCO, represent Treasury in the APAC Risk Committee and provide regular updates to legal entity boards across the region

  • As member of the global Treasury leadership team, represent APAC requirements and influence global decision-making and frameworks

  • Manage a team of 10+ people

  • Partner with the APAC Commercial leadership team to drive long-term business growth in the region

  • Work closely with leadership in Legal, Underwriting, Risk and other functions across APAC

  • Devise and drive solutions, ideas for process improvement and optimisation for Treasury, stakeholders and clients

  • Utilise a range of corporate banking & Fin Tech partners to continually optimise regional balances, liquidity and funds available for investment and investment revenue

  • Work closely with the FP&A function to plan ongoing operational & capital investment requirements

  • Oversee multi-currency processing, settlement and payout activities, utilising a range of partners and solutions for optimal FX trading and execution

  • Manage hedging to mitigate financial risks and foreign exchange positions

  • Oversee day-to-day Treasury funding, client settlements and reconciliations

  • Own regional and local banking strategy

  • Input on relevant requirements and features into product roadmaps for the APAC region

About You

  • 15+ years track record across financial institutions, including managing a Treasury team in an international setup

  • Experience working with senior management, sales, clients and a multitude of stakeholders

  • Confidence in synthesising and presenting relevant information to a senior audience

  • Experience in Payments (Acquiring/Issuing) desirable but not required

  • Financial modelling and analytics experience

  • Highly analytical, strategic thinker with strong judgement and foresight

  • Track record managing a fast-growing team with a range of skillsets

  • Experience overseeing controls and mitigating operational and financial risk
