Company Description
We’re Checkout.com – you might not know our name, but companies like eBay, ASOS, Klarna, Uber Eats, and Sony do. That moment when you check out online? We make it happen.
Checkout.com is where the world checks out. Our global network powers billions of transactions every year, making money move without making a fuss. We spent years perfecting a service most people will never notice. Because when digital payments just work, businesses grow, customers stay, and no one stops to think about why.
With 19 offices spanning six continents, we feel at home everywhere – but London is our HQ. Wherever our people work their magic, they’re fast-moving, performance-obsessed, and driven by being better every day. Ideal. Because a role here isn’t just another job; it’s a career-defining opportunity to build the future of fintech.
Checkout.com is seeking a talented Manager to join the Financial Partnerships team and support the business’s rapid growth and expansion in North America.
Your main responsibility will be to manage strategic partnerships with Checkout’s US Sponsor Banks. You will contribute to the development and execution of our growth strategy in North America as a leading payment provider. Reporting to the Head of Financial Partnerships for North America, the successful candidate will be able to handle multiple areas of responsibilities autonomously, demonstrating excellent critical judgment with hands-on approach. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a broad range of projects and play a key role in building a world-class payments infrastructure.
What You Will Be Doing:
-
Manage and develop sponsor bank partnerships in order for us to develop and deliver high-performing payment solutions and services to our customers.
-
Ensure existing processes are followed and deliverables are met by both sides in a partnership. Use payments knowledge and experience to design and develop new processes to scale those partnerships for growth, efficiency and performance improvement.
-
Collaborate effectively with various teams in the partner organization such as Business Development, Relationship Management, Risk, Compliance, Product and Operations across all levels.
-
Effective internal cross-functional collaboration with Product, Risk, Compliance, Underwriting Legal, Finance, Operations, Commercial and other teams.
-
Develop and execute a best-in-class partnership management model. Be the single point of contact internally and externally for assigned partnerships.
-
Use payments industry knowledge and experience to develop and execute acquiring and issuing strategies to support our growth with new products, services and market segments.
-
Leverage knowledge about the payments industry and partners’ capabilities to act as local market subject matter experts for internal teams.
About You
-
5-10 years experience in payment processing, acquiring, issuing or managing payment partnerships that achieve best-in-class performance.
-
You’re not afraid to be the owner: a mix of operations, project management, business development and relationship management skills. A strong sense of ownership to deliver business results with a focus on managing partner relationships.
-
You talk straight: a strong collaborator and communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders across organizations internally and externally.
-
Payments-obsessed: you’re familiar with the US acquiring and issuing landscape and have experience working with bank-rail payment methods such as ACH, RTP, and Fed Now. You find payments innovation fascinating and desire to play a role in its evolution.
-
No Room for Approximation: You’re data-driven, analytical and strategic in problem solving issues and identifying opportunities to drive growth and efficiency. You’re proficient in data analysis tools such as MS Excel or Google Sheets and presentation tools such as MS Powerpoint and Google Slides. Comfortable working with large sets of data.
-
Athlete Mindset: Highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for driving growth.
-
Comfortable working across time zones and cultures in a globally distributed team.
