Join Spectrum as a Strategic Tax Manager and take ownership of state and local transaction tax audits and sales/use tax refund claims. Collaborate closely with audit leadership and shape impactful outcomes through precise data management and strategic recommendations. Your expertise will directly safeguard Spectrum’s financial interests.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Manage and support all state and local transaction tax audits and sales/use tax refund claims
• Oversee audits by scheduling, monitoring and presenting data under the guidance of the Audit Director
• Schedule and facilitate auditor fieldwork and document retrieval within both legacy and current ERP systems
• Recommend audit policies, procedures, documentation and controls to optimize compliance
• Facilitate protests and appeals for audit deficiencies to secure favorable outcomes
• Communicate with Field and Corporate management to resolve audit issues and deficiencies
• Research factual and legal analysis of audit issues to make determinations and recommendations for resolution
• Account for and reserve tax liabilities associated with audit exposures

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum Required Qualifications Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in sales/use tax representing corporate taxpayers

Skills

• Proficient in relevant software applications including advanced Excel and ERP systems such as SAP
• Ability to research and resolve technical tax issues
• Ability to analyze and interpret data
• Strong oral and written communication skills including legal research and writing
• Demonstrated interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Ability to perform effectively as part of a team committed to common objectives
• Ability to adapt to changing conditions and support others through transitions
• Decision-making and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications Education

• CPA preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of management or leadership experience

• Ability to manage and manipulate large data sets using tools such as Alteryx
