KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conduct consumer research to support worldwide innovation and renovation

  • Design and execute consumer quantitative and qualitative test, independently moderate focus group discussion/in-depth interview, supervise research field work, process data analysis, meanwhile draw and elaborate research report.
  • Work closely with research agencies starting from project brief to complete research activities with full delivery on time and quality.
  • Co-work with global RBP team on worldwide projects and bring China specifics into the study.− Maintain the internal consumer panel to generate actionable insights through quarterly studies, while continually optimizing the platform and ensuring data is well-organized for efficient access.
  • Build up internal database of consumer tests and set up norms as testing reference.
  • Explore and experiment with new methodologies (AI, emotion, cognitive evaluation, etc.) to enhance our consumer research capability and capacity.
  • Maintain and enlarge consumer research vendor pool.

2. Market watch and insight generation

  • Monitor local beauty market trends & product competition through different channels like GNPD, Beaute Research, etc. to generate insights, fulfill knowledge gaps and feed teams on quarterly basis.
  • Initiate & organize evaluation/ exploration on market new launches & consumer trends to keep Chanel updated on new emerging trends.

what you can bring to the team

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in psychology, sociology, anthropology, statistics, etc., at least 6 years’ consumer research related working experience, with at least 4 years’ experience in cosmetic or FMCG R&D. Experience in leading qualitative and quantitative study.
  • Strong project management skills, proven ability to manage the end-to-end research lifecycle for multiple concurrent projects, including timelines, budgets and resources.
  • With innovation mindset, experienced in consumer research and sensory synergy.
  • Applicable knowledge in statistic, skillful in using statistical software like SPSS, XL-stat, be proficient in data interpretation and insight exploring.
  • Good excel & PPT skill, good report writing skill, fluent in English and speaking French is a plus.
  • Learning agility to new method/analysis/applications.
  • A good team player with excellent organizational, navigating, interpersonal skills to drive things happen.
