In this role, as a EMEA Fund Controller for CBRE Investment Accounting and Reporting Solutions (‘CBRE IA&R’), you work in a successful and ambitious organization that is leading in the Fund Accounting of Real Estate Funds, Joint Ventures and Separate Accounts.

The Fund Controller reports to the Director Fund Accounting and works, in an international environment, closely with other Controllers and various departments within CBRE IA&R as well as the Controller within CBRE Investment Management or third party clients. In this position you will support the accounting team for the financial reporting, controlling, cash flow planning, CIT and VAT. You are the link between the business, Investment Oversight, Treasury and Payments.

You fulfill a key function in managing reliable and complete financial information and share your solicited and unsolicited advice with the Director and Senior Fund Controller.

Within CBRE IA&R, you will be challenged to develop yourself, to extend your knowledge and skills and to further improve and professionalize various processes within the company.

What are going to be your main responsibilities?

  • Assist in producing the period-end reports, including production of the annual and quarterly reports;
  • Performs consolidation of financial data including analytical review of the financial data processed by departments within CBRE IA&R;
  • Prepares financial statements (income statements, balance sheets and various other accounting statements);
  • Daily partner with (Senior) Fund Controller within IA&R;
  • Communicates extensively with clients;
  • Assists with preparing client requested reporting;
  • Responsible for bank and intercompany reconciliation and liquidity forecasts;
  • Performs VAT declarations and support CIT process;
  • Preparation of filings and reporting to regulators DNB, AFM and Chamber of Commerce;
  • Assists in the Fund audit process / AIFMD depository process / Services Organization Controls Reports (SOC1) on quarterly basis;
  • Contribute to systems design and implementation in the financial area; and
  • Project-based tasks as well as ad hoc requests.

What are we looking for?

  • Fluent English language skills, both verbal and in writing, while Dutch language skills can be an advantage
  • Graduated from higher vocational training (Bachelor) or university (Master) specializing in finance, such as business economics or accountancy; preferred started with CPA/ ACCA/CA;
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years relevant work experience, preferably in a similar position at a financial organization or Big 4;
  • Practical experience with consolidation and tax returns, in particular VAT and CIT;
  • Knowledge of financial ratios associated with real estate investments is preferred;
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as IFRS and accounting principles in general;
  • Experience with preparation of periodic and annual financial reports and annual audit processes;
  • Strong analytical skills and critical attitude;
  • Excellent communication skills and social skills;
  • Accurate, independent, proactive, solution-oriented attitude and team player;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and
  • Knowledge of Workiva preferred.
