About the role

The Application Engineer carries out Master Systems Integration (MSI) of Building Management Systems (BMS), and the deployment and onboarding of KODE OS across client estates.

The role combines strong HVAC and BMS fundamentals with modern, data-driven platform skills – building control databases, engineering user interfaces, configuring analytics and setting up control and software-enabled building applications based on project specification or sales proposal. Working 100% remotely, you will provide technical support to site teams where necessary and collaborate with colleagues across different time zones as required. You will deliver projects on a global scale for large enterprise clients, using industry-leading technologies and processes to improve building performance, energy efficiency, and occupant experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES –

  • Execute and own KODE OS deployments – site onboarding, point mapping, equipment modelling, dashboard configuration and platform setup.
  • Configure control applications and create supporting logic from sequences of operation and project specifications or sales proposals, across the relevant communication protocols.
  • Develop graphical user interfaces and dashboards to project specifications, applying consistent naming and tagging standards.
  • Perform functional testing of deployed systems at KODE OS (and Niagara, where applicable) level to verify operation against project specification and design documentation.
  • Configure analytics and fault detection within KODE OS, including rule setup and data onboarding.
  • Perform system analysis and diagnostics, determine corrective action, and restore systems to proper operating conditions.
  • Act as technical liaison with clients, project managers and installing contractors; deliver remote operator training on the installed system.
  • Support final walkthrough and punch-list close-out, ensuring items are complete, and sign-off of substantial completion is achieved.
  • Complete assigned projects to schedule and within budget, maintaining accurate as-built records and onboarding documentation

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE –

  • Experience: 2–3 years(minimum) corporate experience in BMS, controls, smart buildings or a related application engineering role.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree /Diploma in HVAC, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • HVAC / BMS: Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems and BMS architecture, controls and field devices.
  • Platforms: Hands-on experience deploying or onboarding building software – KODE OS or any HVAC Analytics tool experience is strongly preferred.
