About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining small to medium-sized buildings, industrial systems, and various technical equipment. You will be part of CBRE’s Engineering and Technical Services team, which focuses on preventive maintenance, repair, technical support, and system optimization.
What You’ll Do
- Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other building systems.
- Conduct routine inspections, identify potential issues, and carry out necessary repairs.
- Assist with installation, modification, and upgrades of building systems and equipment.
- Review assigned work orders and complete follow-up actions in digital maintenance systems.
- Support energy management initiatives through efficient operation of building systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and relevant standards.
- Apply established procedures to solve straightforward technical problems.
- Communicate clear and concise information to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the team by delivering high-quality work within defined processes and guidelines.
Technical Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in technical property maintenance (e.g., HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, fire safety systems, BMS/automation).
- Experience with preventive maintenance and PPM routines.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across different building systems.
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals (e.g., electrical schematics, ventilation diagrams).
- Experience handling operational issues and critical/emergency fault resolution.
- Familiarity with digital work order and maintenance systems (e.g., IFM-hub).
- Ability to prioritize multiple urgent work orders effectively.
- Experience planning service tasks and documenting preventive maintenance activities.
- Experience updating or improving service plans, routines, or checklists.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, including scope, scheduling, and delivery follow-up.
- Ability to ensure subcontractors comply with safety, quality, and timeline requirements.
- Experience managing subcontractors who fail to meet expectations or deadlines.
- Strong IT skills, including digital tools, cloud-based platforms, and Excel.
- Experience with digital reporting and work order processes.
- Ability to work with digital forms, documentation systems, and mobile apps.
- English language skills: comfortable in both spoken and written communication.
- Strong communication experience, with examples of how effective communication helped solve operational problems.
What You’ll Need
- High school diploma, GED, or vocational/trade school certificate with 1–2 years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including standing, walking, climbing ladders, and lifting/carrying loads of 50 lbs (23 kg) or more.
- Ability to follow standard procedures, routines, and safety protocols.
- Good communication skills for exchanging clear and straightforward information.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and an inquisitive, solution-oriented mindset.
