Job Summary:
CBRE is seeking experienced Fleet Mechanics to support maintenance and technical projects across a diverse fleet of trucks, trailers, and vans. This role is a hands-on, field-based position responsible for performing advanced mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and supporting installation of vehicle technologies.
In addition to core mechanic responsibilities, this role will assist with automotive wiring and installation of telematics, cameras, and other fleet systems. Technicians operate as mobile service providers, traveling to multiple sites within their assigned region using a company-provided vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
Travel to fleet and client locations within your assigned region.
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles including trucks, trailers, and vans.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems such as engines, brakes, suspension, and drivetrain components.
Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards.
Support installation and configuration of fleet technologies (telematics, cameras, sensors, GPS systems).
Perform automotive wiring and electrical troubleshooting as needed.
Test and validate both mechanical repairs and installed systems for proper performance.
Follow established SOPs, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, installations, parts usage, and time.
Manage tools, equipment, and parts inventory to support field operations.
Identify and escalate major mechanical issues or project risks.
Collaborate with program teams and leadership to support service and project timelines.
Travel & Work Expectations:
High travel role with daily regional site visits.
Work performed in fleet yards, maintenance shops, and outdoor environments.
Flexibility to support project-based schedules, including occasional nights or weekends.
Company-provided service vehicle, tools, and equipment.
Physical work including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, climbing, and working in tight spaces.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or automotive technician.
Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures.
Experience working on commercial vehicles (trucks, trailers, vans preferred).
Familiarity with electrical systems, automotive wiring, and diagnostic tools.
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
Comfortable working independently in mobile, field-based environments.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
ASE Certification (or equivalent technical certification) preferred but not required.
Experience with diesel engines and heavy-duty fleet maintenance.
Experience with telematics, GPS systems, or fleet technology installations.
Prior experience in a field service or mobile mechanic role.
Experience working within structured SOPs and safety-driven environments.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Field Service Specialist position is $58,905.60 annually or $28.32 per hour and the maximum salary for the Field Service Specialist position is $66,500.00 annually or $31.97per hour. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
