Senior Financial Analyst

About the Role:

As a CBRE BSO Senior Financial Analyst, you will be a key contributor in the monthly project review process by taking ownership of the review and reconciliation of assigned projects. This includes controlling and understanding key drivers of cost and savings variances by project.

This job is part of the Business Transformation Office (BTO) that sits above the business segments as a corporate function, responsible for sustainable transformation initiatives across the Company. The BTO drives a consistent, well-governed and pragmatic approach to deliver our strategic objective of driving efficiency through transformation.

What You’ll Do- Identify, and process accounting entries to ensure (1) GL adjustments and accruals are correctly reclassed; (2) SNOW Forecast adjustment due to timing; and (3) where adjustments are required

  • Monthly reporting review - retrieves and organizes data into required reporting formats to provide a basis for comparison and evaluation
  • Prepares reports analyzing specific aspects of department structures, functions and operational procedures and recommends ways to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness
  • Takes ownership of reconciling TTRP to SNOW to GL and Forecast by Project
  • Working Knowledge of BTO Reporting Platform
  • SME will be required in multiple areas of BTO Platform: (1) Approved releases BTO templates - mastery/understanding of PPT and Excel templates; (2) SNOW usage as defined above; (3) Demonstrated understanding of BTO Business Case process through completion (VR); (4) Demonstrated understanding in usage of existing GL queries, month end reporting and TTRP PBI used in preparing monthly reporting
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting requests.
  • Competency and thorough knowledge of SNOW reporting tool that the BTO utilizes in the following activities - details, planning, financials, resource planning, and reporting
  • Have detailed understanding when SNOW needs to update: (1) initial demand with business case development and approval; (2) monthly reporting & reconciliation (3) during change request submission and approval
  • Evaluates and analyzes a variety of project financial results and indicators that impact BTO business cases such as capital expenditures, depreciation, change requests, investment opportunities, rate of return, operating records, financial statements
  • Recommends actions to be taken to improve financial timely reporting and recording of results
  • SNOW, GL adjustment, or both
  • Compiles and compares, budget, forecast and fiscal data received from relevant FMCs and project ids to prepare overall project financial reporting with historical comparisons of project savings and investment cost
  • Analyzes records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized cost saves, expenditures, including accruals incurred to project future revenues and expenses
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need- Minimum 3 years of experience in Financial Analysis, Controlling, Management Accounting etc.

  • Candidates with experience in other areas of Finance/ Accounting will be considered if they have proven to have the required abilities and skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to quickly learn other software and computer applications (knowledge of Access as an advantage)
  • Fluency in English
  • Exceptionally good understanding of finance and accounting principles, knowledge of US GAAP would be an asset
  • Exceptionally good analytical skills
  • Strong people skills – ability to communicate with clarity and build strong working relationships, focused on teamwork, able to manage change during implementation of automation initiatives
  • Ability to work under time pressure and deliver quality product on time
  • Real estate background – nice to have.
