About the Role

Join our dynamic facilities team as an HVAC Engineer, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of a prestigious banking client’s critical infrastructure. In this position, you will be the primary technical expert responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex mechanical and electrical systems within high-stakes commercial environments. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled professional to apply their expertise in a stable, fast-paced setting where precision and reliability are paramount to the client’s daily operations.

We offer a balanced Monday-through-Friday day shift schedule, allowing you to maintain a consistent work-life balance while managing the sophisticated climate control and building automation systems that power a major financial hub. While this role includes an on-call obligation to ensure 24/7 facility readiness, you will be rewarded with a supportive team environment, advanced training opportunities, and the satisfaction of knowing your technical proficiency keeps a vital business environment running at peak performance. If you are a proactive problem-solver with a background in complex HVAC systems, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment, including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components.
  • Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues within Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems, verifying proper damper operation, airflow balancing, and effective integration with the Building Automation System (BAS).
  • Oversee the preventive maintenance and repair of Roof Top Units (RTUs), ensuring motors, compressors, and filtration systems are operating within manufacturer specifications.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and calibrate commercial boiler systems, including hydronic loops and heat exchangers, to guarantee reliable heating performance throughout the facility.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnostic testing, and major repairs on water-cooled and air-cooled chillers to ensure optimal cooling efficiency and building comfort.

What You’ll Need

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Universal EPA certification required.
  • Driver’s License required.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and the ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
