We are looking for a Certified Accountant & Financial Controller to take on a central and strategic role within our Finance Department, ensuring full ownership of accounting and tax matters in Portugal while contributing to financial controlling and Group reporting activities.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial information, while supporting strategic decision‑making and aligning local operations with global standards.

Your key responsibilities include:

Accounting & Tax:

• Preparing, signing, and submitting statutory financial statements in accordance with Portuguese GAAP (SNC).
• Managing all accounting records and ensuring full compliance with local regulations.
• Overseeing tax compliance, including Corporate Income Tax (IRC), VAT, withholding taxes, and other applicable obligations.
• Preparing and submitting periodic and annual tax returns (IES, Modelo 22, VAT declarations, among others).
• Performing regular bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Managing accounts receivable and payable, ensuring effective control and accuracy.
• Supervising the billing process, ensuring legal and financial compliance.

Group Reporting & Financial Controlling:

• Coordinating the conversion and reporting of local accounts into CBRE Group reporting systems (IFRS/US GAAP frameworks).
• Acting as the main point of contact with central finance teams, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Supporting budgeting processes, identifying variances and proposing corrective actions.
• Contributing to financial projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborating with external auditors (local and group) during audit and certification processes.
• Supporting the Iberian Finance Director with management reporting and ad hoc analysis.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• Degree in Accounting, Management, Economics or a related field.
• Active membership of the Portuguese Chartered Accountants Association (OCC) — mandatory.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in accounting and tax roles, ideally within multinational companies or leading consulting firms.
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese accounting standards (SNC) and tax legislation.
• Experience with international reporting frameworks (IFRS/US GAAP is a plus).
• Advanced Excel skills (financial models, pivot tables, automation).
• Experience with ERP systems (Cegid/Primavera, Microsoft D365 or similar).
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); Spanish is a plus.
• High level of accuracy, responsibility, and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities in demanding environments.
• Proactive mindset, problem‑solving attitude, and focus on continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multicultural teams.
