Get ready for an exciting career with CBRE!

CBRE is the global leader in commercial real estate and investment services, consistently recognized for ethical leadership, innovation, and operational excellence. Guided by our RISE values—respect, integrity, service, and excellence, CBRE’s legal team serves as a trusted partner to the business, advising on complex matters across a global platform.

Joining our team means being an integral part of a sophisticated, world-class organization with exposure to a fast-paced, innovative, global business and collaboration with some of the most talented, driven professionals around the globe.

About The Role:

We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, creative, commercially-minded attorney to support our Americas Advisory business. As a Counsel on the Advisory team of CBRE’s Legal Department, you will partner closely with our sales professionals, managers and leadership teams to negotiate and draft contracts and provide legal guidance, while assessing and mitigating risk proactively, creatively and strategically. You’ll also play a key role in the Legal Department by collaborating with colleagues on industry-leading legal risk mitigation strategies in response to market changes and conditions impacting CBRE’s Advisory business.

What You'll Do:

  • Review, negotiate and draft a high volume of contracts and transactional documents related to local and global commercial real estate services, including commercial brokerage, national and global transaction management and consulting services.
  • Assess moderately complex contractual risks and counsel business teams and leadership on legal risk issues associated with client contracts, as well as contract interpretation, implementation, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support senior Legal colleagues and department leadership with research and other projects related to CBRE’s Advisory business.
  • Partner with sales professionals, managers and leadership with respect to negotiation strategy, potential business disruptions, managing conflicts of interest, dispute resolution, and adherence to CBRE’s policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with senior Legal colleagues and other internal functional areas (e.g., Finance, People, Tax, Digital & Technology, Ethics & Compliance) to identify, assess and thoughtfully mitigate risk exposure.
  • Investigate and respond to regulatory complaints and potential claims by or against CBRE.
  • Make decisions with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to meet deadlines and achieve results.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the law in areas of special interest to the business.
  • Develop and conduct legal training sessions for business colleagues and Legal Department members.
  • Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned.
