About the Role:
As a CBRE Facilities Director, you will be responsible for the comprehensive oversight and strategic management of a 35-acre multi-site healthcare campus in Little Falls, MN. This includes managing daily operations, budgeting, compliance, and supervision of facilities staff across a hospital, power station, and various clinics. You will ensure the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of all facilities, playing a critical role in supporting patient care and organizational objectives through strong leadership and financial acumen.
This job is a part of the Facilities Management functional area which focuses on all aspects of the operations of a set of assets, providing support to the Property Managers regarding all repairs and investment plans.
What You’ll Do: - Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a diverse portfolio, including an apartment, a power station, a hospital, and small clinics located on the hospital grounds.
- Manage a large, 35-acre healthcare campus, ensuring optimal functionality and appearance.
- Direct and prioritize daily work orders and maintenance requests for the entire portfolio.
- Approve Purchase Orders and manage expenses in strict adherence to established budgets.
- Provide formal supervision, mentorship, and coaching to facilities employees, including monitoring training and development, conducting performance evaluations, and overseeing recruitment and hiring processes.
- Coordinate and manage the daily activities of the facilities team, establishing work schedules, assigning tasks, cross-training staff, and tracking departmental deadlines.
- Review client's strategic plans to ensure appropriate staffing levels are met for facilities expectations.
- Manage capital project and operating budget reports for the singular property, identifying and implementing action plans to improve financial performance.
- Negotiate contracts for various services, ensuring favorable terms and quality.
- Liaise with client management and appropriate departments to discuss and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Apply robust knowledge across multiple disciplines, understanding the business and key drivers impacting departmental and cross-functional performance.
- Attend regular safety and other required meetings, contributing to a culture of safety and compliance.
- Manage operational budgets effectively, optimizing resource allocation.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards across the facilities portfolio.
- Manage various facilities projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are on schedule and within budget.
- Act as a key liaison between the hospital and the local community.
- Utilize excellent computer skills, particularly with modern applications and online systems for facilities management.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Persuade managers and other colleagues to take action while being guided by the organization's functional business plans. Negotiate with external partners, vendors, and customers of divergent interests to reach a common goal.
- Identify and solve multi-dimensional, complex, operational, and organizational problems leveraging the appropriate resources within or outside the department.
- Significantly improves and changes existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline.
What You’ll Need:- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5-10 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Facility Management certification preferred. - A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in facilities management, with a strong focus on the healthcare sector.
- Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
- Proven experience in managing direct reports, including supervision, development, and performance management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and regulatory compliance specific to healthcare facilities.
- Strong financial acumen, including budget management, capital project oversight, and contract negotiation.
- Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.
- Leadership skills to set, manage and achieve targets with a direct impact on multiple department results within a function.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Expert organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
