About the role

About the Role:

As a CBRE Assistant Controller, you will be a vital member of the accounting department and manage the team responsible for all accounts receivable processes. You will work in tandem with General Accounting functional area and Lease Administration, as well as regular high-profile interaction with the Client.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work in partnership with Client to understand their needs, develop tailored solutions, and translate into actionable strategic initiatives, providing guidance and support to achieve business objectives
  • Apply knowledge of own discipline and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems/processes
  • Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross- train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
  • Evaluate accounts receivable reports to confirm reconciliations are complete and resolve open issues for the team
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure that a client's agreement is being followed and met
  • Assist with internal and external property and client transitions and external audits as needed
  • Motivate and negotiate with employees, management, and client groups to take the desired actions. Provide an accent on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.
  • Confirm financial and operational reports are accurate. Provide reliable information to make informed business recommendations.
  • Partake in system conversions and enhancement. Provide scoping information, testing, and feedback.
  • Ensure that the systems follow financial processes and procedures, accounting standards, legal tax requirements, management expectations, and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with audit procedures. Set department deadlines.
  • Administer accounting practices to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Create presentations to employees, clients, top management, and public groups.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
