This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.

This is a traveling role in the Boston, MA area.

About the role:

What You’ll Do:

• Provides support for servicing customers’ specialty equipment in shop.
• Assist other technicians and staff as needed. Work may include pick-up and delivery of equipment, field service, shop service/repairs, calibration, and preventative maintenance of refrigerated (and some non-refrigerated) scientific equipment including freezers, refrigerators, lyophilizers, vacuum pumps, and other types of equipment.
• Perform daily and long-range activities defined by the scope of business.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, standards, and procedures.
• Assist with reviewing and updating equipment, maintenance, and calibration procedures. The incumbent is required to perform repairs, preventative maintenance, installations, and shop infrastructure work as needed.
• Track and report performance on quality, safety, cost, and customer satisfaction.
• Recommend corrective action to change and ensure contract requirements are executed above the specified standards.
• Confirm supply of spare parts and consumables are available.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
• Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail. Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
• May be required to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and “on-call” as needed.
• Technical Support: This may include physical involvement in the field repair or diagnosis of equipment. Foster a positive work relationship with clients, vendors and co-workers.

What you'll need:

• 5+ years’ experience in scientific or specialized refrigeration, sterilization or HVAC.
• Certification in HVAC or Refrigeration strongly preferred
• Prior supervision experience in scientific or specialized refrigeration, sterilization or HVAC preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and internet functions is required; accounting and construction software packages preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers, vendors and managers via phone and in person.
