About the role

In this role, you will assist with managing the team responsible for mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, energy management, and workforce development across a high-profile facility. This is your chance to champion preventive maintenance, repairs, and support on critical equipment and systems for a world-class client, based in the heart of London.

What You'll Do

As a key leader on this account, you will blend hands-on technical management with team leadership:

  • Provide formal supervision, conduct performance evaluations, and oversee the recruiting, hiring, and cross-training of your staff.
  • Set schedules, track department deadlines, and assign tasks to keep the team highly efficient.
  • Oversee operations and maintenance for your assigned facility while helping to develop operating and capital budgets.
  • Monitor all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety, while staying current with the latest technology trends.
  • Implement continuous improvements for preventive maintenance and maintain clear, building-specific safety and maintenance manuals.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors, manage ongoing communications with clients and vendors, and respond swiftly to emergency situations.
  • Facilitate the acquisition of new management contracts and maintain accurate as-built drawings.
  • Lead by example, modelling behaviours consistent with CBRE's RISE values and utilising your negotiation skills to align shared interests.

What You'll Need

We are looking for an inquisitive, organised leader who brings:

  • A completed Recognised Apprenticeship or a UK NVQ / City & Guilds qualification in a relevant Electrical or Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • Alternatively, an HNC/HND or a Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline is also highly regarded.
  • Proven experience in team management, staffing, selection, training, coaching, and managing performance retention.
  • The ability to convey performance expectations, guide the exchange of complex or sensitive information, and resolve problems smoothly.
  • Highly developed organisational skills paired with a naturally curious and proactive approach to problem-solving.
