About the Role:
The Digital & Tech Mgmt Manager is a senior-level hybrid role responsible for leading end-to-end technical solution delivery while also driving the digital strategy, technology roadmap, and team performance that supports business growth and operational efficiency. This role actively leads and participates in envisioning, requirements gathering, solution architecture, design, implementation, QA/testing, and post go-live support, while simultaneously providing formal supervision, coaching, and direction to a team of engineers and technical staff. As both a hands-on technical leader and people manager, this position partners with internal enterprise stakeholders, clients, and technology vendors to deliver scalable solutions through the OM portfolio of services and to ensure alignment with overall business objectives. Exemplary leadership, customer service, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize across concurrent technical and managerial responsibilities are keys to success.
What You'll do:
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Become familiar with Port Tech from CBRE core business, operations, and the services provided to internal and external clients.
- Lead end-to-end client solution delivery, including detailed architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and post go-live support of applications that fulfill client needs; may also assist senior leaders in these areas.
- At any given time, may be engaged in a single project with one client or in multiple concurrent projects across multiple clients.
- Lead the sprint planning process, including designing, planning, estimating, and managing technical tasks across the team.
- Provide guidance and assign tasks to other members of the team; lead and conduct QA / code reviews for work produced by technical team members allocated to projects.
- Attend client meetings (onsite or remote) to communicate design, technical solutions, risks, and issues. Participate in client presentations and demos when appropriate.
- Recommend solutions through reviewing system capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations, and identifying system deficiencies.
- Apply structured methodology for testing and validation activities and extract / store reusable code during closeout using source control tools.
- Understand technical and functional design requirements and maintain existing documentation as changes occur.
- Monitor effort (your own and that of the technical team) throughout the engagement and communicate regularly with the Project Manager to ensure time and effort match plan; communicate anticipated deviations immediately.
- Review and identify risk throughout projects and communicate that risk to the Project Manager. Escalate and collaborate with internal leadership to address difficult unresolved technical issues; assist with mitigation when applicable.
- Take ownership of assigned and escalated support requests, providing technical solutions, troubleshooting, and guidance to ensure resolution is obtained.
- Develop and implement digital strategies to enhance business growth, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
- Execute the organization's digital strategy and manage the digital roadmap to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Coordinate and supervise the team's daily activities, ensuring efficient and effective operations. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, set deadlines, and cross-train staff.
- Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff, conduct performance evaluations and coaching, and oversee the recruiting and hiring of new team members.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to engineers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Lead the team to achieve high-quality outcomes, improving efficiency and effectiveness within the department.
- Exchange and explain complex technical information, convey performance expectations, and handle sensitive issues with professionalism.
- Influence stakeholders with shared interests to reach agreements and drive successful project and program outcomes.
- Maintain relationships with technology vendors and assist in negotiating contracts to ensure optimal value for the business.
- Assist in the development and management of departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with business and project objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and IT teams to identify, prioritize, and integrate digital technology initiatives with the company's broader technology infrastructure.
- Track and report the performance of department initiatives and digital roadmap deliverables.
- Stay informed about emerging digital technologies and trends to ensure the organization remains competitive and innovative.
- Document procedures and standards and identify where procedures are not aligned with business or audit-standard controls.
- Serve as the point of escalation for business-critical or multifaceted technical issues, ensuring they are handled in a consistent, timely, and professional manner.
- Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values; influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.
- With CBRE / Port Tech support, acquire and maintain relevant certifications, training, and skill development relevant to primary service focus and emerging technologies within the field or service area.
