Welcome to the future of cloud networking and security!

Cato Networks is the first company to converge enterprise networking and security into one centralized and global service that is delivered by cloud. It is led by networking and security pioneer Shlomo Kramer (Check Point, Imperva) and early investor (Palo Alto Networks, Exabeem, Trusteer and more). Cato’s unique technology inspired a brand-new product category, later named “SASE” by Gartner and a market expected to reach $28.5 billion by 2028.

This is your opportunity to get on the rocket ship and join a company that is building a cutting-edge enterprise network and secure cloud platform, and is on a fast track to becoming the worldwide market leader – don’t miss it!

We are looking for an Automation Team Lead – Telco / ISP Networking to join our Networking & Platform Automation group and lead the Telco Automation team.

This role focuses on carrier-scale Internet-facing networking, customer connectivity, and complex multi-region routing scenarios.

As part of this role, you will lead a team of automation engineers dedicated to Telco / ISP networking scenarios, while working closely with R&D, Network Engineering, and Customer-facing teams to define automation strategy, ensure high-quality validation of ISP-grade networking architectures, and support large-scale customer integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of Automation Engineers focused on Telco / ISP networking scenarios

  • Define and drive the automation strategy for carrier-grade networking validation

  • Own the design and validation of Internet BGP architectures, multi-region routing, and PoP connectivity

  • Oversee modeling and testing of complex routing policies, traffic engineering, and failover scenarios

  • Ensure scalable automation coverage for customer integration flows, including peering and routing validation

  • Define and maintain realistic Telco / ISP-like test environments (multi-AS, multi-PoP, Internet edge simulations)

  • Work closely with Network Engineering and Customer teams to analyze, reproduce, and prevent field issues

  • Drive automation infrastructure improvements, frameworks, and tooling for large-scale networking tests

  • Set priorities, manage execution, and ensure delivery according to roadmap and business needs

Requirements

  • Previous leadership or mentoring experience – Must

  • 6+ years of experience in automation, system testing, or network engineering roles

  • Strong Telco / ISP networking background – must

  • Proven experience designing, building, or operating Internet BGP architectures for global or multi-region networks

  • Deep understanding of BGP, routing policies, traffic engineering, and PoP connectivity

  • Hands-on experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) in complex environments

  • Experience with carrier-grade or Internet-facing networks

  • Strong understanding of Layer 3–7 networking concepts

  • Hands-on experience with Linux – must

  • Solid OOD / OOP and coding skills (Java preferred)

  • Experience with virtualized or cloud environments (ESX, AWS, Azure)

  • Strong debugging capabilities using logs, metrics, and packet captures (Wireshark – advantage)

  • Experience working directly with customers or partners on network integrations

  • Background in ISPs, Telcos, IXPs, or large-scale cloud networks

  • Familiarity with Internet peering models, transit providers, and routing security concepts
