Role Definition

Own the creation, maintenance, and evolution of the Technology Configuration Compatibility Matrix for Tech Advisor, ensuring accurate, scalable, and reliable configuration recommendations.

This role defines how Caterpillar equipment is enabled with digital technologies, determining compatible combinations across hardware, software configuration, Software Enabled Attachments (SEA), and subscriptions. Using Tech Advisor as the central platform, the role sustains a continuously updated compatibility matrix that connects Cat equipment with Caterpillar’s digital applications, enabling consistent technology deployment at scale

Responsibilities

• Technology Configuration Ownership: Own the Tech Advisor Technology Configuration Compatibility Matrix, including long‑term accuracy and evolution.
• · Compatibility Logic & Decision Modeling: Define and maintain compatibility rules covering equipment, hardware, software, SEA enablement, and subscriptions.
• · Configuration Risk & Impact Analysis: Identify dependencies, constraints, and risks across releases and technology changes.
• · Technology Enablement Support: Enable accurate technology placement across Caterpillar equipment and digital solutions.
• · Release Enablement & Readiness: Provide configuration inputs to Product and Delivery teams to support release planning and execution.
• · Configuration Validation & Stability: Validate configuration behavior during releases and post‑release stabilization.
• · Operational & Support Partnership: Partner with Product Support to diagnose and reduce configuration‑driven incidents.
• · Governance & Documentation: Maintain traceability, documentation, and change history for compatibility logic.
• · Technical Leadership: Act as subject‑matter expert and mentor on configuration logic and best practices.
• · Continuous Improvement: Improve compatibility scalability and sustainability as the ecosystem evolves.

Degree Requirement

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

· 10+ years of experience in service engineering, system integration , configuration management, or digital systems enablement.

· Experience managing complex compatibility logic and rule‑based decision models.

· Strong analytical capability across technical and commercial dependencies.

· Experience working with Product, Architecture, and Support teams.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
