About this role
The Project Manager leads the quoting value stream for the engineer-to-order commercial chiller products, ensuring quotes are accurate, timely, technically sound, and aligned with business goals. This role partners closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Sourcing, and Customer Service to evaluate quote requests, define scope, assess feasibility, develop lead time and pricing adders necessary for the changes requested to the standard products. The ideal candidate combines strong technical understanding, process discipline, communication and adaptability to changing business needs and team leadership in a custom manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end ETO quoting process to deliver accurate lead time and cost adders in a timely manner.
- Review customer specifications, drawings, bills of material, and commercial requirements to determine quote scope and feasibility.
- Coordinate with Engineering to define technical solutions, lead times, risks, and required customizations.
- Partner with Operations, Sourcing, and Manufacturing to validate labor assumptions, material costs and supplier lead times, capacity, and manufacturability.
- Lead and develop a quoting team and automated processes responsible for engineer-to-order and custom product quotations.
- Standardize quoting tools, templates, workflows, and approval processes to improve speed, quality, and consistency.
- Track quoting performance metrics such as turnaround time, hit rate, and quote accuracy.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across quoting, engineering, and quote-to-order processes.
- Serve as a key point of communication among Sales, and internal teams during the quotation process.
- Maintain accurate records of quote history, assumptions, revisions, and win-loss insights for future analysis.
Required Qualification
- B achelor’s degree in engineering, 5+ years of experience in a commercial manufacturing environment and 1+ year experience with SAP and Product Lifecycle Management tools.
Or
- Master’s or advanced degree in engineering with 2+ years of experience in a commercial manufacturing environment and 6+ months of experience in SAP and Product Lifecycle Management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading quoting activities for electrical, mechanical, industrial, or other engineered product lines.
- Experience in quoting, estimating, applications engineering, sales operations, or a similar role in manufacturing or custom engineered products.
- Experience in product design and production launch
- Experience interpreting customer specifications, drawings, and technical requirements.
- Working knowledge of production planning, sourcing, and supply chain constraints.
- Experience with continuous improvement methods and quote process optimization.
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $96,000.00 - $192,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other Compensation
This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
