About the role:

As a CAD Designer at Addvolt, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the success and efficiency of our product. Beyond generating and maintaining operations documents, you'll be instrumental in driving improvements and innovations that keep us ahead in the industry. Your expertise will be vital in identifying and implementing cutting-edge technologies, positioning our company as a leader in the field.

As a CAD Designer you will:

  • Generate new product 3D models in CREO and associated 2D drawings. Generate 2D model electrical harness schematics using CREO SCHEMATICS application tool.
  • Generate models of castings, stampings, extrusions, injection molded parts, sheet metal parts and electrical harnesses.
  • Monitor design workflow for data release into the product configuration and change management database system PLM (Windchill).
  • Must be able to present product design model objectives to Project Engineers on how to apply the design meets assembly, manufacturing and service best practices.
  • Apply GD&T and tolerance in accordance with manufacturing capabilities and product system assembly requirements. Perform component and assembly tolerance stack-up analysis and incorporate results into product design.
  • Generate 3D electrical harness models utilizing CREO pro-cabling tool, that adheres to Addvolt/Carrier standards for safety and lessons learned. Generate 3D model using the CREO application tools for sheet metal, pro-cabling, piping and surfacing.

What you bring:

  • Efficient in 3D mechanical and electrical model creation and 2D drawing, preferably experienced with software CREO and CREO SCHEMATICS
  • General dimension, view layout, tolerancing and GD&T.
  • Create product BOM (Bill of Materials) and CREO model matrix.
  • 3 to 5+ years of new product design of components and assemblies for manufacturing.
  • Mechanical or CAD Drawing Technical Course (Level 5 – CET/CTESP or over).

What makes you stand out:

  • Experience working in a regulated industry
  • Familiarity with PLM systems for storage/retrieval of CAD files (Windchill preferably).
  • Exposure to Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) practices.
