Job Summary

The DPFSO is responsible for overseeing the overall safety, security, and well-being of all individuals on the island while supporting and enhancing the overall guest experience at one or more Carnival Corporation owned and operated global destination. This role involves managing daily operations and facilities, coordinating activities and staff, ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols, and maintaining effective communication with relevant authorities and stakeholders. The DPFSO also contributes to the implementation of environmental sustainability and conservation initiatives, helping to maintain a safe, welcoming, and environmentally responsible environment. This position reports directly to the PFSO.

Key Accountabilities / Job Functions

Security Operations and Team Management:

Assist the Designated Port Facility Security Officer (DPFSO) in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP).

Support daily security operations and ensure adherence to security protocols and procedures.

Conduct regular security assessments and inspections to identify threats and vulnerabilities.

Monitor the effectiveness of security measures and ensure compliance with the ISPS Code and local regulations.

Respond to security incidents, breaches, or emergencies and implement corrective measures.

Assist in investigations, prepare detailed reports, and recommend improvements.

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including security agencies and law enforcement.

Act as a liaison between the DPFSO and security staff, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.

  1. Training, Drills, and Continuous Improvement

Support the development and delivery of security training programs and drills for port staff and security personnel.

Participate in and help coordinate drills and exercises to ensure readiness.

Maintain accurate records of security operations, training, and incident reports.

Assist in preparing and reviewing compliance documentation and reports.

Identify areas for improvement and contribute to enhancing security measures and procedures.

  1. Compliance, Health, and Safety Standards

Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Promote a safe and professional work environment in line with company policies and standards.

Uphold HESS (Health, Environment, Safety, and Security) policies and procedures.

Maintain professional conduct, including dress code, behavior, and guest interaction.

Follow all applicable safety and environmental regulations during operations.

  1. Reporting, Facilities, and Maintenance Oversight

Complete operational work logs and promptly report issues to the Operations Manager.

Assist with managing and maintaining all units and common areas on-site.

Report necessary repairs or maintenance needs, particularly those related to safety.

Advise management of any employee or security-related challenges as they arise.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Adheres to Corporate Policies and Procedures, including Code of Conduct, Audit Procedures and any control related responsibility for financial data entered, stored, or reported via business systems within employee’s control (list not exhaustive).
