Project Management
- The Director, Global Travel Sourcing role will be responsible for sourcing related activities in connection with the cross-brand procurement of air travel, hotel, and ground transportation. This position will report directly to Vice President
- Global Strategic Sourcing. The role is responsible for working with vendors and with stakeholders from all Carnival Corporation brands. The position will have four direct reports: Two Managers
- Global Air Sourcing, a Manager
- Global Air Sourcing Analytics, and a Procurement Specialist. In helping leverage our global scale, the Director
- Global Travel Sourcing will be responsible for developing and implementing a holistic strategy which enables Global Sourcing to best support all our strategic sourcing efforts across the enterprise. This position will provide a great opportunity to learn about the operations across our global brands.
Essential Functions:

Lead overall Travel category strategy. Develop and execute negotiations, as well as RFQs/RFIs/RFPs for category related goods and services. Establish goals to strategically source a portfolio of products and services in accordance with established Carnival Sourcing processes. Deliver against cost innovation and "total cost of ownership" targets and goals.

Partner and collaborate with Corporate leadership and brands in order to effectively leverage scale, simplify the supplier base, and maximize savings for guest, crew, and corporate travel. In addition, partner with Revenue Management and IT teams, provide them with key market and supplier insights and support decision making in those areas.

Participate in developing and ensuring business analytics and reporting is established for targeted areas of responsibility. Leverage a market perspective to quickly assimilate external information (e.g. market drivers, macroeconomic conditions, etc.) to anticipate its impact across the business and develop associated strategies and action plans to maximize the opportunity. In addition, provide airline industry expertise to the brands to support their decision making.

Ensure strong involvement with all key stakeholders to gain intricate knowledge of their needs and leverage points for each area. Establish and maintain close relationships with senior level business unit management to understand key business strategies, annual goals/objectives and economic challenges/opportunities.

Perform project management duties which will include overseeing and ensuring quality delivery of assigned projects; collect, measure, report and communicate progress with key stakeholders. Support Vice President – Global Strategic Sourcing to develop and implement robust communication plan to syndicate category strategy with executive stakeholders.

Assist the Vice President – Global Strategic Sourcing in other areas as needed such as preparing presentations, performing analytics, etc.

Leadership: Provides leadership in project management, stakeholder engagement, and supplier negotiations; may oversee teams or cross-functional project groups and manage significant budgets

Demonstrated ability to create strategic supplier partnerships that create a competitive advantage for the corporation. Expertise in conducting complex analyses and distilling into a clear, concise business allocation. Strong facilitation and project management skills. Strong analytical skills. Strong ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels including Sr. Executives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including presentation skills. Solid understanding of and experience with Travel Category and industry (air, hotel, ground transportation). Ability to negotiate and optimize commercial terms. Strong understanding of best practices related global sourcing contract terms and conditions

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Business Administration/Supply Chain or related. Masters Degree preferred.

Successful, 10+ year track record with significant experience in and successful navigation of global complex organizations and strategic sourcing. Experience in sourcing Air Travel is preferred, with a global spend component. Bachelors degree plus 10-15 years related experience or Masters or other Advanced Degree plus 10 years related experience.
Travel: Less than 25% non-shipboard travel likely
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
