The Operations Manager is responsible for providing support to the Operations Team, including Senior Operations Manager and General Manager, managing daily and ongoing operations. Additionally, the Operations Manager core responsibility is to oversee the facilities management, and the day-to-day activities and performance dedicated to ensuring quality customer service is delivered to all guests. The Operations Manager assists in the continuous improvements, efforts, and drives process improvement throughout the company. The Operations Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to coaching, counseling, training, continuous development, and performance management. The Operations Manager also strategizes process improvements to ensure everyone completes their tasks on schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Operations
- Assist the General Manager or designee with daily operations by liaising with the ship and local officials and ensuring staff and the property are prepared for ship calls.
- Liaise with vendors and ship personnel.
- Resolve matters with guests, vendors, and employees.
- Collaborate with General Manager on establishing measures, policies and procedures that support the Company’s goals.
- Ensure that the site’s environmental policy is always adhered to.
- Oversee supply orders and distribution for the Operations Department
- Liaise with the General Manager or designee to create annual fiscal plan.
- Remain updated on professional knowledge by participating in continuous self-development.
- Oversee the scheduling, rotations, and projects of the Operations Department
Employee Management
- Provide leadership and motivation for all employees by communicating core beliefs and values to create a positive work environment.
- Conduct monthly Department meetings and conduct bi-annual performance evaluations.
- Liaise with the General Manager and Human Resources Department on the resolution and management of employment needs for operations.
Quality Assurance & Process Improvement
- On an annual basis, review, provide recommendations, and update the MR-650.
- Provide monthly Departmental reports on assignments, projects, Departmental needs, and accomplishments.
- Conduct regular review of operations related costs and procedures and analyze performance for improvement.
- Any other duties assigned by the General Manager or designee.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required, in Operations Management, Leadership, Business or related field preferred
- Master’s Degree a plus
- At least 3 years’ experience in a Managerial or Supervisory role
- Proven work experience as Operations Manager or similar role
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing excellent service to internal stakeholders.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be physically fit.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment as needed.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data entry and reporting tools.
- Detail orientated with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Ability to multi-task and think critically
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong planning and coordination skills, especially in handling multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- May be requested to work a shift schedule while at any of the destinations.
