About the role

Job Purpose and Impact:

The Director, R&D - North Asia Food will will lead and develop a team of technical service and application team based in China and Japan in Cargill Food Enterprise's North Asia Group. In this role, you will cultivate a customer centric culture to develop solutions with deep understanding of customer needs. You will work with commercial system to improve the effectiveness of innovation process and ensure a focused and healthy innovation pipeline that supports short to longer term business needs. You will lead TS/Application team to upgrade category capabilities for new business opportunities and enhancing the competitiveness of technical solutions in North Asia Food business markets (China, Japan, and South Korea).

  • Key Accountabilities
  • Partner with commercial leaders (GTM, Category and Product Line, etc) in North Asia Food Group to implement customer segmentation strategy and lead the R&D team to develop and execute customer development plans for key accounts.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers and coach TS team in strengthening customer connection and translating customer needs to technical solutions.
  • Ensure balanced and differentiated technical support to core business, and build value added business by developing category capabilities and providing strategic advice to business leaders.
  • Be on the leadership team of North Asia Food business, and develop business targets for R&D teams on annual basis that is aligned with NA's Group AOP and long term growth plan.
  • Manage R&D resource prioritization, people development, and talent management, including, training, budgeting, and compliant with applicable human resource regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Confirmed experience with ingredient technical services, applications or a similar discipline
  • Minimum of eight years of related work experience, five years of supervisory experience
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree
