Job Purpose and Impact

  • The Senior Advisor, Trading
  • Ag Portfolio will set the direction and provide trading leadership and be accountable for the results of a designated product line. In this role, you will provide commercial direction, resource planning and risk management solutions that together allow product flexibility in trading and hedge optimization strategies. You will build collaborative partnerships with a team of over the counter and derivatives traders in a highly complex, multi-country landscape of competitive structured products to achieve the product lines financial and commercial results and add additional value to the business.

Key Accountabilities

  • Apply advanced knowledge of commodities physical and financial trading practices to create and execute short- and long-term trading strategies, and communicates across global teams as an input for their strategies.
  • Lead Ag market Alpha trading strategies on derivatives flow and be accountable for the product line's profit and loss
  • Evaluate and review the most complex analyses of market trends, including supply and demand factors, market share, freight spreads, shipping and payment and sourcing to support decisions on current and future positions.
  • Collaborate with strategic brokers, customers and agents on an as needed basis to handle the highest risk trading positions within a specific multi-country or global market and execute trades and hedges within set limits with an advanced comprehension of physical and nonphysical trading practices.
  • Lead all aspects of market analysis, such as world market analysis, by using internal and external information to create trading strategies and influence trading activities.
  • Provide expert consultative guidance for initiating strategic long-range goals and objectives. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Posting Detail

The expected salary for this position is $230,000 – $260,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum requirement of 8 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 12 years or more of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced risk management skills.
  • Broad knowledge of options and commodity derivatives.
  • Extensive experience in cash trading and cash program management.
  • Positive trading profit and loss track record in agricultural markets.
  • Demonstrated team leadership within a trading team or organization.
