What Tax contributes to Cardinal Health:

Finance oversees the accounting, tax, financial planning, and control environment of the organization, ensuring accurate reporting, strong governance, and protection of Cardinal Health’s assets. Finance supports decision‑making by maintaining robust financial systems, processes, and internal controls, and by providing reliable financial information to the business.

Tax plays a critical role in enabling compliant and sustainable business operations by designing, implementing, and defending tax positions across domestic and international activities. In Brazil, Tax ensures end‑to‑end compliance across indirect taxes, statutory reporting, while owning key interfaces with operational partners and financial close processes. This position can also be in contact with direct taxes and transfer pricing.

Tax actively monitors legislative and regulatory developments — including Brazilian Tax Reform — assessing impacts on pricing, supply chain, systems, contracts, and business strategy, and proactively advising leadership on required adaptations and risk mitigation. Acting as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, Tax supports complex operational and commercial decisions, oversees external providers, supports audits and regulatory inquiries, and helps drive profitable growth while managing tax risk and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end process for customer master data creation and maintenance, including document collection, stakeholder approvals, and accurate, timely setup in the LSP system.
  • Review and validate indirect tax calculations and statutory filings prepared by third-party providers, ensuring compliance with Brazilian tax legislation.
  • Own monthly close activities for revenue, taxes, COGS, and SGP accounts, including reconciliations, validations, and coordination with Med Accounting, BPO partners, and the LSP.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives to improve month-end processes, internal controls, and financial data quality, including coordination with external partners.
  • Advise business and management on operational scenarios from a tax perspective, supporting compliant go/no-go decisions and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate with third-party providers to implement system and process updates driven by tax or regulatory changes.
  • Monitor changes in local tax laws and assess impacts, proactively guiding the business on compliance requirements.
  • Develop business cases assessing tax impacts on pricing, profitability, and cash flow to support strategic decisions.
  • Act as the main liaison with the LSP for AR topics, supporting payment extensions, billing documents, and customer requests.
  • Good to have: Own the monitoring and governance of Direct Taxes (IRPJ and CSLL), including provisions, effective tax rate impacts, and compliance positions.
  • Good to have: Coordinate and govern annual Transfer Pricing procedures under Brazilian regulations, working closely with external advisors and internal stakeholders, and assessing impacts on profitability and operating model.
  • Good to have: Closely monitor the Brazilian Tax Reform (CBS, IBS, Imposto Seletivo, and transition rules), assessing impacts on pricing, supply chain, systems, contracts, and business strategy, and proactively advising leadership on required adaptations and risk mitigation.
