Instructional Designer, Principal Associate | Readiness & Associate Experience (Hybrid)

This role will be responsible for the design and development of a diverse set of learning materials to support our Retail Banking Teams including Branch and Café Ambassadors and Small Business Associates. This individual will partner closely with key business partners to translate business intent into engaging learning materials, with a focus (though not exclusively) on digital-first learning methods. This individual will analyze learning needs, design and develop blended learning solutions from raw materials, and measure and report out on learning effectiveness. They will script videos, storyboard e-Learning courses, structure simulations, create digital games, and much more. As a Principle learning designer, you will partner with SMEs, Project Managers, Facilitators, Learning Consultants, and other Learning Experience Designers to design, develop, implement, scale, and continuously improve key performance indicators.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Principal Learning Consultants to own the design for specific programs and stand-alone offerings that support the learning & performance needs of associates in Branch, Cafes, and Small Business Banking

• Complement the needs analysis process by identifying the additional context that will help to ensure successful transfer of skills to the job

• Increase the effectiveness of learning solutions by identifying and recommending format/modalities that create an optimal learning experience and demonstrate an understanding of adult learning principles

• Working with SMEs, design and develop curriculum, programs, learning materials, and performance support tools (including self-study, classroom, e-Learning, etc.) based on industry design standards for a given modality (includes traditional, web, and mobile design)

• Demonstrate an aptitude for, knowledge of, and agility with new learning technologies

• Engage with project team members to enable clarity of goal; conduct on-going reviews to ensure outcome is on track to meet client needs

• Partner with other Instructional Designers and Learning Consultants on the team to support the ADDIE process, as appropriate

• Create evidence-based assessments and evaluation methods

• Assume personal responsibility for projects and follow-through to completion with minimal need for direct supervision

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

• At least 4 years of experience in Instructional Design

• At least 4 years of experience with learning content development tools (Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Design Suite, Camtasia)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Training Design and Development for digital modalities

• 1+ years of experience in UI/UX and graphic design

• 2+ years of experience with mobile content creation, curation and delivery

• 2+ years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Photoshop, and video editing software)

• Proficiency with Google Suite

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Mc Lean, VA: $108,900 - $124,300 for Learning Consultant

Plano, TX: $98,900 - $112,900 for Learning Consultant

Richmond, VA: $98,900 - $112,900 for Learning Consultant

Wilmington, DE: $98,900 - $112,900 for Learning Consultant

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
