About the role

Our Change and Transformation is key to enabling the business achieve its strategic goals. We are looking for a Change Delivery Lead to lead on the delivery of priority outcomes to drive successful end to end delivery.

What you’ll do

As a Change Delivery Lead you will use your experience to lead business wide change which will include;

  • Bringing cross functional resources together to tackle a wide range of business problems

  • Providing clear communication and coordination between delivery teams and wider business stakeholders

  • Adapting your methodology and style to suit different scenarios

  • Challenging and stress testing plans, scope and delivery approaches

  • Dealing with ambiguity and navigating when processes are not clearly defined or understood

  • Identifying ways to improve overall efficiency and ways of working of delivery teams

An accomplished delivery specialist with a depth of experience in delivering impactful outcomes that require cross-functional working and responsibility. You will utilise appropriate delivery approaches and techniques to drive successful end-to-end delivery.

Your excellent communication and influencing skills will help you be a pro-active part of creating a culture of transparency across all aspects of delivery. You will ensure the successful implementation and review of change in a dynamic and well governed manner.

You are outcome driven. You take a consistent and ongoing approach to planning, forecasting, managing uncertainty, metrics and measurements, contingency planning and delivery. You can communicate plans, planning assumptions and progress ensuring transparency to a range of stakeholders. You can manage risks, issues and dependencies for your outcomes as well as governance and status reporting. You can maintain the cadence of delivery and manage the relationships between different people within and across teams. You can use judgement to escalate when appropriate and proactively seek support where required.

You can understand team styles and how people work together, adapting your own style where appropriate to gain the required results. You can give and receive constructive feedback, enabling a strong feedback loop. You can create an open and collaborative working environment.

Your passion for continuous improvement means you challenge the status quo, you’re vigilant with what’s not working and help identify opportunities to influence positive change. In service of delivery you will work directly with teams as needed, using your skills to help them identify improvements and advance effectiveness of delivery.

You seek a firm understanding of how Capital One, as a business, functions and the business context surrounding decisions and changes. You can demonstrate flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to learn and also seek to teach and coach others through our change community.

You will achieve a breadth of impact by actively contributing to out of team activities (e.g. Outcome team level processes, Communities of Practice (CoP's), Business Resource Groups (BRGs), Intern & Grad scheme involvement etc..). You will share when you learn from your day to day role with your peers by using these forums.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience of delivering change in a fast paced environment, utilising a variety of delivery methodologies including Agile and project management frameworks

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, providing structured thinking and understanding to problems, transforming them into actionable work for teams, coupled with an unwavering desire to deliver for our customers and business

  • Proven experience of managing cross team dependencies, risks and issues

  • You are confident in leading through ambiguity, in a fast paced, changing environment

  • Strong relationship building and collaboration skills to steer and guide teams and stakeholders

  • A credible track record of governance, reporting, improving the effectiveness of delivery,

  • Comfortable working in a complex regulated environment (experience is desirable)

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills allowing you to engage with teams and wider stakeholders and play a pro-active part in creating a culture of transparency across all aspects of delivery.

  • A high level of emotional intelligence allowing you to read a room.

Where and how you'll work

This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham office.

We have a hybrid working model which gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home.

We’re big on collaboration and connection, so you’ll be based in our offices 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
