T he Opportunity:
CACI has an immediate opening for a Professional Technical Writer providing support/services to the US Fleet Forces Command (USFFC) INSURV, under the Naval Forces Logistics (NFL) II contract at Joint Expeditionary Base, Little Creek (JEB-LC).
Responsibilities:
- Assist with developing comprehensive documentation that is in alignment with organizational standards.
- Translate complex information into simple, polished, and engaging content.
- Produce user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights into language that sets users up for success.
- Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement.
- Research, outline, write and edit new and existing content, working with various departments to understand project requirements.
- Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize and write procedure manuals, technical specifications and document processes.
Qualifications: Required:
- Secret Clearance required.
- Minimum Educational Requirements: Shall possess a Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, journalism or other relevant technical field.
- Minimum experience: In addition to the education requirements above, Technical Writer must have a minimum of 4 years industry experience as an effective technical writer.
- Education Equivalency: As a substitute, 4 years industry experience as an effective technical writer. Education Equivalency experience is in addition to the minimum experience of the labor category.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and time management skills.
- Experience working with subject matter experts (SMEs) and business leads to understand their requirements and present creative concepts.
- Highly organized with ability to successfully run multiple projects simultaneously and work independently with little supervision.
Desired:
- Working knowledge of current Navy standards for inspections and assessments of readiness, material condition and safety of Naval vessels.
- Prior experience in government/defense industry is a plus!

_________________________________________________________________________Pay Range: This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.
Minimum Required Hourly Wage: $38.93
