Forward Deployed Engineer - BytePlus (Hong Kong)

About Us

Embedded in client environments, this role leads Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) to rapidly develop and debug AI applications to accomplish production-grade deployment, while driving product feature iteration.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a deep understanding of client business scenarios, lead FDEs to rapidly build and validate AI application prototypes, provide the technical architecture guidance they need, and iteratively advance agent systems to production-grade deployment.
• Lead FDEs in designing AI and cloud-based architectures and, through AI-assisted development, rapidly implement them in client environments, effectively integrating client application APIs and data systems in compliance with client security requirements.
• Lead FDEs in building high-performance evaluation pipelines and observability frameworks to ensure agent systems meet requirements for accuracy, safety, and latency.
• Identify reusable application patterns and technical issues, translate them into product feature requests, and drive product development.
• Work closely with client engineering teams to ensure the successful launch, long-term success, and strong adoption of AI applications.

Requirements:

• Minimum Qualification(s)

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• 5+ years of client-facing technical architecture and delivery experience, strong command of vibe coding, and the ability to independently handle prototype development, client communication, and production-grade delivery.

• 2+ years of technical team management experience.

• Experience with AI applications, such as prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG, and agent development, and in cloud-based architecture and development, such as development using cloud service APIs/SDKs, automated deployment, and high-availability architecture.

• Preferred Qualification(s)

• Master’s or PhD degree in a related field.

• Deep client communication and business consulting experience, especially experience communicating with client C-level stakeholders.

• Experience delivering AI solutions for one or more industries, with familiarity with the corresponding industry ecosystems.

• Experience developing complex agent systems, with proficiency in open-source or commercial agent development frameworks, such as Lang Graph, CrewAI, and agent development SDKs from cloud service providers.
