Financial Service Partnership Director, AMS - Global Payment

The Global Payment team of Byte Dance provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, financial services and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on Byte Dance platforms including Tik Tok.

This role is responsible for developing and managing financial service partnerships to achieve best-in-class solutions such as BNPL, merchant financing, insurance, etc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the financial service industry, excellent relationship management skills, and a proven track record of driving results through strategic collaborations.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, ensuring continuous alignment and collaboration.
• Identify and evaluate potential strategic partners to enhance financial service capabilities.
• Develop and execute partnership strategies that align with the company’s objectives and growth plans.
• Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Engage associations, regulators and key authorities with cross-team members when required.
• Monitor and analyze financial service performance metrics to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Work closely with internal teams (e.g., Solution, Product, Compliance, Finance) to integrate partner solutions and enhance processes.
• Identify opportunities for new markets to fulfill new business development requirements.
• Staying up-to-date with industry trends, market developments, and competitive landscape in the global payments space, especially in the financial service area.
• Conducting market research to identify emerging opportunities and potential threats to the business.
• Provide insights and recommendations to the leadership team based on market analysis and partner feedback.
• Establish clear objectives and key results (OKRs) for partnerships. Track and report on the progress of OKRs, making adjustments as necessary to achieve targets.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualification(s):

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
• Proven ability to manage multiple partnerships and projects simultaneously.
• Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualification(s):

• MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in partnership management, business development, or strategic roles within the financial service industry.
• Ideally, the candidate to have experience working in BNPL or insurance companies.
• Knowledge of financial service systems, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Occasional domestic and international travels
