Software Engineer (Payment Network) - Global Payment - Indonesia

About Global Payment:

The Global Payment team of Byte Dance provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on Byte Dance platforms including Tik Tok.

The Payment Network PI team is part of the Global Payment Network organization. We focus on supporting binding payment instruments via diverse payment channels and managing the instruments lifecycle. Our mission is to ensure high-quality and reliable payment instruments through robust system design and multi-layered safeguards, enabling users to enjoy a smooth and secure payment experience on Byte Dance platforms such as Tik Tok.

Responsibilities:

1. Build high-quality products to enrich user experience and support business requirements;
2. Actively participate in software development life cycle;
3. Write robust technical design and architecture;
4. Identify, prioritise and execute tasks in the software development life cycle;
5. Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code;
6. Perform peer review, code debugging, validation, and verification testing;
7. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to improve our products;
8. Build monitoring and alerting systems to support online troubleshooting;
9. Participate in joint release process to ensure product delivery is as expected without issues;
10. Create and update documentation during each of the development phases.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualification(s)

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience;
2. Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages, such as Java/Go/C++/C#/Python;
3. Excellent proficiency in backend server development and understanding in relational database;
4. Eagerness to learn new things in a fast-paced environment, possess strong analytical thinking, and pay exceptional attention to details.

Preferred Qualification(s)

1. Minimum 3 years relevant work experience from a large-scale internet business;
2. Experience in building distributed systems with high availability and financial security;
3. Experience in financial services, domestic or international online payment is preferred;
4. Those with international team work experience are preferred.
