
Industrial Designer
About the role
This is an internal innovative business team under Byte Dance, focusing on researching products in segments related to new technology tracks and implementing AI-powered intelligent innovations.
- Connect software experiences with hardware design to ensure ecosystem-level consistency in design language and brand identity.
- Partner with various hardware ID teams to align on product directions and output ecosystem-level design guidelines.
- Develop industrial design guidelines covering form, CMF (Color, Material, Finish), and the physical-digital interaction relationship.
- Lead conceptual design, trend research, and 3D modeling/rendering to support key hardware project milestones.
- Balance user experience, ergonomics, and manufacturing feasibility to maintain design integrity across product lines.
- Collaborate with software UX, UI, Motion, and Supply Chain teams to drive cross-device experiences from concept to mass production.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualification(s)

5 years of experience in industrial design for hardware products or related physical product experiences.

Experience contributing to at least one physical product from initial concept through production or implementation.

Proficiency in 3D modeling, rendering, and visual storytelling.

Deep understanding of CMF, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Preferred Qualification(s)

Degree in Industrial Design or a related field.

Experience in defining cross-product-line design languages or brand ID guidelines.

Ability to collaborate with software design teams to define cohesive hardware-software interactions.
