Senior Software Quality Engineer – Advanced Network Security (ANS)

The Role:

The VMware ANS Division of Broadcom is seeking a Senior Software Quality Engineer to tackle industry-defining challenges and shape the future of Network Security. This role sits at the center of extraordinarily fast-evolving technology and a product suite that is redefining the VCF-based private cloud security landscape.In the ANS test team, we act as the"First Customer." This means we anticipate and neutralize complex problems before they reach the field by architecting comprehensive end-to-end test strategies. You will utilize sophisticated automation to build enterprise-scale test environments and execute complex validation cycles. Beyond standard testing, you will have the creative autonomy to influence product behavior and enhance the overall user experience.

Work Location & Model:

• This position is based in our Bangalore JP Nagar office. * Please note that this is a fully in-office role; there is *no remote work option available for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Validation:

Lead the validation effort for major product features, authoring feature test plans that cover complex, real-world customer scenarios.

• High-Velocity Execution:

Thrive in a dynamic environment where software releases are planned aggressively; demonstrate the ability to maintain high quality and precision under tight, frequent deployment deadlines.

• AI-Enhanced Efficiency:

Leverage AI-based tools and coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or LLMs) to accelerate the creation of high-quality test automation and lower release cycle times.

• Intelligent Tool Development:

Research and develop custom AI-driven test tools to automate log analysis, identify test coverage gaps, and improve overall codebase maintainability.

• Rapid Technical Adaptation:

Master rapidly evolving technologies in short timeframes by deconstructing complex systems through technical documentation and proactive, high-level discussions with the engineering team.

• Stakeholder Management:

Communicate project health and deliverables to all stakeholders, ensuring strict alignment with the product release schedule.

Requirements:

• Education: Mandatory Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or higher) and equivalent work experience.

• Experience:

9+ years in Software Development and Quality Engineering.

• Programming:

5+ years of Python(or equivalent) with a mastery of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).

• AI Tooling:

Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding and testing tools to develop automation frameworks and streamline debugging processes.

• Networking & Security Mastery:

  Strong understanding of L2 and L3 networks, VLANs, and routing protocols.

• Deep expertise in Advanced Threat Prevention (ATP)

features: IDPS**,NTA,MPS, and** NDR.

• Familiarity with Firewalls (Distributed, L7, IDFW) and micro-segmentation.

• Virtualization & Private Cloud:

5+ years of experience in Installation, Configuration, and Administration of Virtualization software (ESXi and KVM) within a VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation) environment.

• Systems Administration:

Deep Linux knowledge (RHEL, Ubuntu) and experience with Windows Server environments.

• Troubleshooting:

Expert-level debugging skills using tools like tcpdump, wireshark, traceroute, and netstat.

• Mindset:

A high-velocity learner who thrives in aggressively scheduled release environments and knows how to leverage the team’s collective knowledge to solve bottlenecks quickly.
